Nice place overlooking the water. Excellent salads. Best dinner salad I have ever had. The apps are great and the main entrees were phenomenal. A must if you are in the area!

I was on a work trip this week in Elizabeth City and always try to find the best local spots, avoiding chains as much as I can. After the first few days I tried Thai places and some local cafes. Food was decent but nothing to really recommend. That changed when I came to pick up some food from Proof. First off, really unique location, right on the water. The waitresses inside were very personable, telling me stories about the place and just chatting. I ended up ordering their lasagna which was rich and delicious. I wish I was able to stay and enjoy my time there because the interior was nice, music was good, and the drinks sounded tasty. If you're visiting Elizabeth City, give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed.

We are here this past weekend. Thought, by chance, we had found a restaurant with good food. It was anything but that. The cheese in all our food had a terrible smell and taste. It was absolutely terrible! We were a party of 5 and not one of us had good food. Big disappointment. For that price too. SMH

We never got our meal after 1 hour 40 kins
Finally had to leave
Our server Sabrina was busy chatting it up with either a regular or co worker
