I've had donuts here several times, and they have always been delicious! Me & my group got there late in the day, so there wasn't a huge selection, but the doughnuts were still good & fresh. I'm sad to hear that they may be closing in May. The owner is so kind. I appreciate that they honor the military. Maybe they'll find a better location (closer to me...lol).

Moved to the area about 3 months ago, and the only place I will go to get donuts is Southern Maid Donuts. The whole team there is respectful and desired to meet customer needs. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Family friendly.

We were looking forward to trying out this local donut shop. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The donuts are small and when we arrived there was not much in the case. But we were told that more would be ready in 3 1/2 minutes. So we waited. We had asked for the chocolate cake donuts, as the label said on the top left side of the case. We saw donuts that were hot and ready being put on trays so we thought we were in for a treat. The person behind the counter, reaches into the case and pulls out 2 already existing angel food donuts on the lower shelf, proceeds to put thin chocolate frosting on them and bag them. We asked if those were for us and she said yes. We looked at each other confused and tried to see why we waited for 5 minutes, asked for the cake donuts that were labeled on the top shelf (there were no donuts in that spot and this is why, we thought we were waiting for fresh donuts). The person behind the counter seemed very confused. But she is the one that told us we could wait for the fresh cake donuts. The guy that was making the donuts only explained the difference between angle food donuts and yeast donuts. Uuumm, we had asked for the ones that were labeled cake, on the top shelf........ OK so never mind. We paid for these and left. No we will not return. Too confusing, donuts are small and frosting is not that great. I am sure others like this place, but it is not for us.

The frappebwas great, the donut was perfect, great texture. Staff was very friendly.
Southern Maid is a rare find but once you've tried them you'll keep going back for more. The workers are nice, friendly & polite. When you have a man who loves his job you can tell. I now live about 1.5 hours away but the trip is worth the trouble just to have one of their doughnuts. This is a must place to go.

Fantastic Doughnuts buy Fantastic people. Dropped in around 5:45 a.m., and the smell was heavenly. Fresh made on the spot. When I got home and had the first bite of the raspberry eclair, it took me right back to my childhood in Boston. Go pay these good folks a visit, and treat yourself.
