Some of friendliest staff I encountered. Food was prepared extremely fast and was out prompt even moderately busy as they were. Good food very tasty recommend if in area.
My husband and I frequently eat here. This week we learned it changed ownership to MI Cancun. The food was amazing. The customer service was impeccable and the prices are very reasonable. Great authentic ambience with upbeat music and very whimsical art. They offered additional complimentary chips and salsa compared to the previous owners. We were also surprised how quickly our order arrived. Very generous portions. Absolutely one of our favorite places to eat in Elizabeth City.
Parking: Huge parking lot.
This place is mine and my wife's favorite places to go!! The staff is excellent and the food is phenomenal! I try the footlong burrito every other time we go and I can't ever seem to finish all of it lol one of these days!! My wife loves their Burria Tacos!! Everything is delicious and freshly made! Great job yall, see yall soon!
Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options, you may have to ask and the server will show you which ones they are. Plus there's a legend that shows different info by each meal.
Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a family restaurant. They love seeing my brood walk in! They're friendly and engaging with the kiddos as well as find ways to help entertain them throughout dinner lol.
Wheelchair accessibility: Handi-cap and wheel chair access throughout the entire place from parking lot to dinner table you will feel right at home!
Dietary restrictions: These guys can tailor any meal to your liking so don't be afraid to speak up and let your server know exactly what you want or looking for and if they don't have it they will make you a custom plate to your liking.
A friend and I stop by to give it a try. Ordered the Texas Burrito. Nice size and the price was good. Had free chips as we waited. The wait staff was very nice. I love how clean it was and the bathroom where even very clean. The only downside if I had to pick one would be the music it was a little loud and a little hard to talk to the person sitting right across from you.
Kid-friendliness: I did not see a lot of small things or parts that a kid could get into.
Parking: There is a lot of parking places and it is off the main road so it has lots of city lights
Wheelchair accessibility: It has wide aisles and tables you can pull a chair away from to pull your wheelchair up to.
First time diners. My husband ordered the taco salad bowl and I had the street tacos, which were delicious. My husband was disappointed with the size of the taco salad, especially since it was $13. There was more lettuce than ground beef; if it wasn't for the chips and salsa app, he would've left hungry and he is not a big guy. It's a shame to spend $30+ and not feel like you got your money's worth for dinner. We did have one beer, so it's not like we blew it on drinks.
Our first time eating here and everything was amazing down to our server Angela L. She made sure we had everything we needed..was very polite and just overall awesome! Even though we live in Greenville nc we will definitely come back again.
Food is authentic and awesome, but the best thing about eating there was the staff. They were happy, attentive, and prompt. Made the entire experience enjoyable. We'll be back soon.
The service was great, the chicken fajitas from the lunch menu were generous, fresh and delicious. Very nice atmosphere. Thank you Happy Taco!
We were looking for a place to eat out Tuesday. I saw Taco Tuesday on Happy Taco. They serve 3 hard or soft tacos plus rice and beans. Individual taco is $1. We will definitely be going back on another Tuesday. Many families came for taco Tuesday.
It's authentic home made comfy food. I immediately thought of my mom's amazing cooking when I ate their menudo and tamales. Definitely recommend and will be coming back with my family to have more. ??

The food here is really good. I want to state that first and foremost. The issue is with the staffing; they're understaffed (or at least on that day they were). Our waitress was one of two during lunch hour. She was amazing. There were a couple of orders wrong between our two tables, but I can't say whether or not that was due to the waitress or if they messed up in the back. Either way the restaurant needs more staff. The two servers on duty that day did their very best.
Every time we come here we are able to be sat immediately. The margaritas are amazing!! You can't go wrong. The watermelon is my favorite, but its popular so sometimes they are out of the flavor. It never matters because all the flavors are great and the drinks are made perfectly strong. The food is very good and always comes out very quickly and hot and fresh!! Lunch specials are completely reasonable. If you don't have much time ita a great place to grab a bite because the food comes out so quickly. I typically don't choose Mexican food for a night out, but since finding the Happy Taco it's all I want to eat!! Love it.
The staff is absolutely the best very friendly. Food is delicious. Fair priced for foods and drinks. Best part is they ate kid friendly. My kids absolutely love going here.
Cheese dip was better than usual, wasn't as runny. Thicker is better. Always good salsa. My boys always order the ACP and never disappoints. I change it up, had the chihuahua this time (beef, chicken and bacon.Update too salty with the bacon
Good food, good ambiance, good bar and drinks. This is the place to go if you’re just passing through Elizabeth City like us. I’m not local but my parents, brother, and I came here and had a great meal and some big delicious margaritas. The music inside and the interior decoration was all on point. We had fresh made guac and warm tortilla chips to start, then various burritos for dinner. 10 out of 10 would come here again.
