A great little stop along 264 in Englehard. Martelle's is definitely not a place that's only busy because there is nothing nearby. It is well worth the drive for the food and service. Their BBQ is flavored right, their staff is friendly and welcoming. They have a well stocked salad bar at a great price. I will definitely be stopping in the next time I'm nearby or will drive a little further to get there.

Went on a seafood Friday! We were pleased with the delicious scallops, oysters, shrimp, crabcake & flounder!!! It's been a week, & I'm salivating when I think about how tasty everything was, and how fresh & yummy the salad bar was also! Can't wait to go back! Our meals were so good!!!
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon while driving home from the Outer Banks, and was informed it's self-serve buffet style on Sundays. The BBQ and fried chicken were great. Never had eastern NC style BBQ before, but it was so good. The fried chicken was perfectly coated and season and so juicy. Had to stop myself from going back for more after a third full plate.
Wonderful fried chicken. Martelle's even offers a youngins/ senior menu.

Food was good,very slow, party of 3, took an hour to get our food, they weren't very busy, , servers were friendly and helpful. It's the best restaurant in the area,1 of 3.
