If you know me, you know that Chilis is my religion. My wife Barbara and I live in Pinehurst, NC and drive over an hour to this Chilis location at least 3 times per week (and sometimes as many as 7 times per week). You may ask why we drive so far when there is a Chilis in Pinehurst. Two reasons: our favorite waitress, Miss Latrice Jacksons, and the decor reminds Barbara of our honeymoon to Luckenbach, Texas in 1982 - a lot of love, latex and leather. About three weeks ago as we were pulling into the parking lot of Chilis, I felt a bit woozy and started to hear the voice of the late great Anthony Bourdain telling me to “get three racks of the baby back ribs” and then I blacked out. When I regained consciousness, I discovered that I had accelerated our 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis into seven other vehicles in the parking lot. Barbara was squealing like a hog being fed through a wood chipper and my hair piece was stuck to the dashboard. My lit cigarette gave me a third degree burn right near my nuts. The hazards were on and the windshield wipers were going at full speed. We pulled ourselves out of the wreckage and made our way into Chilis. The boys in blue arrived around the time Barbara and I sat down at the bar and put in an order of the chili smoked hickory honey encrusted deep fried bacon wrapped cheese blasted pork bites. As first responders dealt with Barbara’s cuts and bruises, I failed three separate field sobriety tests and put law enforcement on notice that I am a Veteran of the Korean war. Barbara was so distraught that her diverticulitis began to act up and … well I am just grateful that she was wearing her adult diapers. I was placed in the backseat of a squad car and as we pulled out of the parking lot of Chilis I saw Miss Jacksons (our top notch waitress) bringing a tearful Barbara the to-go box of our pork bites. It was not my best day, and Barbara has forced me back into rehab (much to my dismay). The good news is we have HBO here at the rehab facility and a salad bar with those baby corns. The insurance company is offering us $950 for the totaled Mercury Marquis (Barbara’s baby), and we are considering upgrading to a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. God bless the broken road that led us, and many other red blooded Americans, to Chilis.

I went in at a pretty busy time so I was expecting a wait. Waited 10 minutes before another server had to alert my service of our presence. We then ordered and waited an additional 35~45 minutes. We (party of 2) waited so long that a party of 4 got sat, ordered, ate then paid in that same time. They were in my section as well. When we finally got our food the order was wrong. They forgot my shrimp for my SURF and turf. When we were done we then had to wait AGAIN an additional 10 minutes for my server to cash us out. When the server did come she left AGAIN to deal with another customer. This is the first and last time I will be coming to chillis. I felt ignored and the service was poor.

People sleep on Chili's. They have the BEST burgers. Burgers are perfectly cooked, not dry and flavorful. Fajitas are delicious. The meat isn't overcooked nor are the vegetables. Always a favorite.

Everytime I come here there is something wrong with my food the first time my food was completely cold .. I decided to go and try one more time and my chicken tender was raw… now the server in my eyes was super unprofessional … she proceeded to take my plate … then come back and tell me she took my plate back to cut my piece of chicken up and told me it wasn’t raw it was just a dark spot …. Noooo it was raw .. that made me feel like she was trying to be funny . Or like she didn’t believe what I was saying …

Their food quality is bad
11/23/2025 (plenty of empty tables, seated our party near side door which read no entrance from outside & under vent near back. Terrible seating for customers over 70. Poorly managed. Party of 4, and one person of our party received meal almost after everyone finished their meal. Need a better hostess to greet customers at entrance & arrange reasonable seating for parties of 4. Ridiculous to wait for table when there were plenty of empty seating for 4 at tables in a better more comfortable area.)

Always love eating here, you get your food really fast on non busy days and the staff are friendly. More of a wait on busy days but it’s not unbearable, will come back anytime.
