Good food, decent service, and an old-school 90s vibe – I love it. I recommend going at 11 am to eat the best cornbread in the world.

We arrived, was seated, after 20 minutes a waitress came by to take our order. She said she would be right back with our tea and biscuits. Well another 25 minutes passed and at this point she came with our teas, biscuits. No napkins. She said she would be right back with our food. Well it was about 30 minutes and here she comes. The meat loaf I ordered was horrible. Vegetables were OK. But my husband had to walk to a table where the people had just left and picked up a stack of napkins they had left but were untouched while I walked to another table to get salt and pepper. The most horrible experience we've ever had at any restaurant. The windows were nasty , hand prints smeared from one side to another. My husband left a 2.00 tip against what I had told him. We will never come to this Crackle Barrel on Johnson Rd in Fayetteville, NC. Sorry food, sorry service.

I typically go visit my family during Thanksgiving but I had to stay in town since I was taking care of a sick cat, so since it was just me and my husband, we decided to come here for Thanksgiving. And I regret it so much, I wished I went anywhere else.
We get there it’s a forty minute and that’s totally fine. It’s Thanksgiving and it’s in a military town and in similar situations like ours.
The problem is we sit down after the forty minutes, I asked about replacing certain things on the Thanksgiving plate. And the waitress was so annoyed, but I’m just trying to order a Thanksgiving plate with everything I like. So I ordered the country fried turkey plate so I can pick my own sides, along with my friend who joined us ordered the same thing.
After 30 minutes of ordering, the waitress comes back and tells us they messed up the whole batch of turkey and it will only be 5 more minutes. 5 minutes pass, she apologizes again and says she will gives us gift cards as an apology. Which is super nice, and we are good with that. The manager comes to our table 10 minutes later to apologize about the wait, at this point it’s almost a hour of waiting. We are seeing people we got there later than us, eating their food. The food finally gets there and the turkey is fresh and hot, but the sides were left out I’m assuming when we made the order. Mashed potatoes and chicken dumplings harden. So I bring it up because it’s hard and ice cold, they bring out new sides. And they are super annoyed and we are super annoyed.
At this point, I just want to go home. So we are about to pay and the waitress doesn’t bring up about the gift card so I followed up. And she proceeds to give us a coupon for cinnamon rolls where you have to spend at least $8 to get. And I’m like keep that, we aren’t coming back. Please give us a discount instead which she gives 15%. At this point we are at the two hour and 30 minutes mark when we left.
I would not recommend this location, not for Thanksgiving or any day. Thanksgiving wasn’t ruined by this place, but you guys gave us a story, we will tell every year.

Curbside pickup. My husband and I had a late dinner that evening we didn’t want a burger or fries. Had a taste for Cracker Barrel, good old southern cooking. Wasn’t the best this time, my order meatloaf, mash potatoes and fried okra. Mashed potatoes were cold and looked as if they were the last serving out of the pot. My husband enjoyed his meal accept for the burnt hard biscuits he received. It should not matter if you are ordering in or taking out the quality of the food should remain the same. Your food would never look like that if you were dining in.
