Update: I said I wouldn't come here again but I really do believe in supporting black owned businesses HOWEVER NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED!!! The customer service was subpar and I feel like the pieces of chicken are getting smaller BUT the prices are getting higher. Crown use to be the best black owned business in Fayetteville but they have totally dropped the ball, so disappointing

Disappointing Experience at Crown Chicken
I was really looking forward to a good meal, but unfortunately, Crown Chicken completely missed the mark. The fried chicken was a total letdown—salty, soggy, and definitely not fresh. It had that stale, reheated taste that made it clear this wasn’t cooked to order. Safe to say, I won’t be getting chicken from here again.
The fries were equally disappointing. I ordered a large, but what I got was a regular-sized portion thrown into a plastic bag—not exactly what I expected. To make matters worse, they were just as overly salty as the chicken.
And then there was the mac and cheese… Sad is the only way to describe it. It tasted old, stale, and completely uninspired—more like something that had been sitting out all day than a comforting side dish.
As someone who genuinely enjoys good fried chicken, today was a sad day indeed. I won’t be making the mistake of ordering from here again.

The food was horrible....crown fried chicken is the worst chicken in the United States of America.
Amazing food made fresh to order! Ms May was so sweet and helpful and she turned me on to the mumbo sauce which is so good will be back again and again!
First time trying this place out

*EDIT*
I can't account for how this happened. Hopefully the restaurant just uses so much cleaner it permeates everything and the food was not actually contaminated with it. But after posting the previous review and attempting to eat my food after going to a different restaurant and getting myself some buffalo sauce even through the hot buffalo sauce and the ranch about Midway through the sandwiche it started to taste the way purple fabuloso cleaner smells. I do deliveries and have picked up an order from them before and noticed that it smelled very strongly a fabuloso. I noticed because a boss I used to work for used fabuloso and used it to the extreme. Because of that I can no longer stand that smell anymore so I noticed it when I walk into it. The restaurant does not smell like that tonight, what about Midway through the sandwich I started to faintly taste that in my food. Like I said that was over some extremely hot buffalo sauce and ranch. Deconstructing what was left of my sandwich came to the conclusion it was either the lettuce or the tomatoes. Also like I stated I cannot speak for what or how this happened whether or not the food actually had somehow got some in it, whether the containers the food were in were just cleaned it with it so heavily that it retained that smell or whether they just use so much of it in general in the restaurant that everything in there just absorbs that smell. But I'm editing my review. I will not be returning. I am extremely upset that I had to argue over sauce and still not get it, go somewhere else and now this for a 12.00 meal. And I know I'm not going to get any type of refund or anything, I don't even expect one. But that whole experience is just absolutely terrible, and I normally give all restaurants the benefit of the doubt seeing as how I worked food my whole life. But the food that tasted like cleaning solution? Really
Ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich which is supposed to be soaked in Buffalo sauce according to the menu. And according to the picture on their Facebook page. And according to the picture of the menu that somebody took and posted. After I picked up my order and drove away and was getting ready to eat it, I find no buffalo sauce. I call the restaurant back and question them. They say know it is a dry already hot breaded spicy chicken sandwich I say okay. I go back and double-check the menu, I try to find their website which is nonexistent, I go to their Facebook page,. Where I find that not only am I right but people have posted pictures of the sandwich. I called them back they say no the menu doesn't say that. I said well there's a photo of it on your Facebook page and it has buffalo sauce on it. She said no it does not come with it, you can pay extra. I said well I tried to go to the website which is apparently nonexistent and she said yes you can look at the menu on Google I said that's what I'm looking at and it says soaked in Buffalo sauce. She says no it does not maybe you're looking at a different crown fried Chicken. no I'm looking at your crown fried Chicken I can see the front door somebody took a picture of and I read the phone number to her and she still proceeded to tell me that I was incorrect. I gave up. I'm going somewhere else and paying them for some buffalo sauce to put on my sandwich. All this over a 50 cent or $1 side of sauce and being right. I've worked in the restaurant business since I was a child and my family owned one. Im absolutely baffled by the blatant denial of documents on the internet stating what comes on the products on your menu and you're still going to tell me that I am incorrect and that I can pay for it. I probably wouldn't have minded having to pay for it but the fact of the matter of being told that I'm incorrect when I'm being told where to look for this info is plain dumb. I hope thinking that they are correct makes them feel good when they go to sleep at night. Foods actually decent, but the ridiculou

There was a time when I would gladly give Crown Fried Chicken a five-star review. When the restaurant first arrived on Murchison Road, customers raved reviews for service in the community, quality food, some of the very best chicken meals in town, and most importantly, a modest and honest price that encouraged loyal and repeat customers. Sadly, everything that made this local eatery a neighborhood favorite has now become another overpriced, low quality cliche "chicken joint" perched in a community where many citizens rely on honestly priced, local convenient meals. My personal experience, which led me to rewrite my review, left me feeling cheated. The walls of this small chicken restaurant are, and have always been, covered with menu posters and inviting prices. However, be warned. The advertised price is definitely not what you'll pay. I understand the current economic changes that we are all experiencing today. However, the same economic inflation that prompted Taco Bell's $5 Craving Box to increase by $2 should not cause the price of 12 wings to increase by more than $5. Paying $18.43 cent for poorly fried chicken is nothing more than a greed inspired attempt to gouge the same community that supports your business.

Sweet potato pie was nasty taste like banana pudding filling
This was the worst experience ever. I will never be back again. I went to order food and when I asked about why my bill was so expensive. They told me the menu was 5 years old and that is totally not right.its false advertisement and my food was cold and nasty

I used to love this place. My review from 7 years ago is also attached. I stopped by again and found it to be very disappointing.
I usually stop here while driving from DC to FL. I asked them for the restroom and was told "it's for customers only". I explained that I drove 15 minutes off the I95 to get their food and I could order before using the restroom, but then the story changed, and she said, " ohh it's out of service."
Anyhow I decided to place the order and then another surprise came. The prices on the menu are old, and she said we have the right to revise the price without notice. I simply said if you have changed the pricing, keep the menu updated so it's visible to customers.
I then asked her if they are still serving halal, to which she said "Look at the menu, we serve Halal". I was like you just said menu is outdated so I had to ask..
Overall, this place is ruined badly. Not worth it!!
