Went went to Melvin's for the first time yesterday. I has a brisket sandwich with the souffle and my wife had the 2 pc fish. Both were good and we would come back.

What a great find! We were on the road looking for a place to have lunch and found this place. We loved the story on their website about how they feed school children, so we wanted to support them.
We were greeted like old friends when we walked in! Marissa, the manager was our waitpersonNd she made the best recommendations
The food exceeded all expectations! My wife and I both got pulled pork sandwiches with a very generous portion of tender and delicious pork. Their homemade barbecue sauce was amazing.
Their bbq beans were the best I have ever had. The Mac and cheese could be called cheese with some mac! So delicious! My wife also got the green beans and was sitting g there deciding how she can duplicate them. Excellent food, excellent. Friendly service

I've been here only 3 times, and the food has always been on point. I'm leaving NC and wanted one last plate of soul food that I didnt have to cook and Melvin's did NOT disappoint! I got the catfish, jumbo shrimp, and some chicken with collard greens (Not out the can, because it matters and yes we can tell if it do), mac, greenbeans & potato salad.... Absolutely amazing! Our waitress Kayla, was very accommodating and attentive. The food was amazing! Tender smoked brisket melts on your pallet. Fall off the bone ribs, The fried catfish was delicious and fresh. Excellent portions, for the whole family. The salmon flaked onto the fork, not over done, just right. We crushed the slice of carrot cake. Only had room for the, but I'd bet any favorite is down home good at Melvin's. Thank you front of the house And a High five to the back of the house. What you do is impressive, clap, clap, clap.

Hubs and I went for our second wedding anniversary dinner based on the recommendation of a friend. Best brisket ever! Perfectly tender, cooking made the meat shine (not over-flavored), perfect smoke red ring depth. And I mean - traveled the country eating BBQ; owned a vending BBQ business myself years ago, and no one does brisket better than they do! Ribs were great except hubs got a rack that was a little too dry, but the second part of the rack was tender enough to fall off the bone and smoked perfectly in flavor. Although I was not a fan of the collards (hubs said he liked them), the Mac n cheese had a great texture and spot on cheese crust on top. Would have liked a bit more banana pudding for dessert. As someone from the food industry, I can tell they have plenty of years of experience cooking. Was a great experience and we WILL be back again!

i was a cook at melvins at riverside, let me just say beyond the disrespect of management to their employees, THERES IS ROACHES IN EVERYTHING 🪳🪳🪳 The dish pit with all the dishes you eat on. Sweat rolling off foreheads into food constantly. And theres a high chance if you've eaten hear theyve handles YOUR FOOD with NO GLOVES🍔🧤. Overall could use some work not the worst in fayettville but i definitely told my family and friends to WATCH OUT❗️

The smoked chicken BBQ was freshly smoked and delicious. I had the fried okra and they were yummy too, as was the cornbread! The BBQ sauce was perfect. They also brought us a complimentary hush puppy appetizer. 👍 The waitress was friendly as was Melvin out back tending to the smoker.
