The bakery part of this location is very small, but apparently very popular, and has well prepared & made fresh daily pastries, soups, sandwiches, and wood-fired oven pizzas. Most of this location is not a bakery, but a gift shop which has quite a large selection for such a small little village.

Coffee shops usually buy a pre made chai tea that’s just ok, but in here they make in house and it’s delicious!!!

Went this morning to Flat Rock Village Bakery and grabbed a ham and cheese croissant plus a couple pastries for tomorrow — absolutely incredible. The croissant was spot-on, and the selection of handmade pastries and fresh-baked breads is unreal. Delicious coffee options and a really cool, cozy ambiance to top it off. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re anywhere nearby.

Great food and even better staff!
The manager is always very efficient and extremely patient and kind, even with rude and irrational customers. Same goes for the rest of the staff. Thank you!

I never leave reviews but I was left with such a bad taste in my mouth after visiting this place that I had to write about it. The bakery has nice seating outside that is pleasant for studying, etc. I have been there a couple times to study and it has been fairly pleasant- although I haven’t had the best customer service experience. Well, when I went to study there yesterday, I got a coffee and a cookie. After I was there an hour or so, this lady who works there kept giving me weird looks making me uncomfortable like I should leave or something. I got up and ordered a hot chocolate, coke, and a pizza as well. It was an hour before closing and the lady was like, “I’m going to put your pizza in a to-go box because we are behind on time and it won’t be ready till 4:30” I was like “okay” even though I was clearly at a table and not wanting to take the pizza to go. Finally the pizza came out at 4:30 (in a to go box) and my boyfriend was with me there to eat it. As we are about to eat, lady comes up and says “ we are closing soon and I have to wipe down this table. There’s a lot to be done” and gave us a look like she wanted us to leave. But there were several other groups of people still outside eating. She didn’t seem to go over and rush them out of there like she did to us. After that, I told my bf that we should just eat it because it wouldn’t take that long and there are still other people there. But we ended up just leaving because of how rude she was. I can’t believe how rude someone could be when I literally spent $40 bucks there on food. Food is not bad, bakery items are good but I will not be coming back.

Such a cute, local bakery with delicious food! We stopped by here right at opening for breakfast for coffee and breakfast. The everything bagel was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and was deliciously topped with cream cheese. We also got a ham and cheese croissant that was great. There is a small rack of day old baked goods that are half off. The coffee was just okay. We got a vanilla latte that tasted bitter and the drip coffee wasn’t anything special. We’d 100% come back for baked goods, but not for coffee.

Just passing through, stopped based on someone's recommendation, Bought a loaf of bread, when we stopped to eat it, discovered it was burned on the bottom, disappointed.
