Pretty bad. Went and nothing was really impressive. Food was cold and pretty bland. Overall not at all impressed and nothing like food you'd actually get in Louisiana or Mississippi. Really wanted to like this place too. I'd honestly avoid this place, especially if you're from out of town. Also on our visit the cook was in the kitchen wearing a wife beater. I've been a cook for years, have some respect for the job and look the part, especially when you're visible to the public.

This place was horrible. Ribs were old and definitely not smoked. The guy behind the counter was definitely a meth addict who would just Bs you into not walking out. Stay away, all 4 of us had major diarrhea for the next two days. Stay away from this $hit hole.

To be clear it pains me to do this because the staff were so friendly. For starters, we asked about the ribs, the cook opened the freezer door and looked inside and then proceeded to say he had two racks of ribs left. I know that ribs need to be smoked for 6 to 8 hours. There's no doubt in my mind that those ribs we had or reheated. The food tasted like it was microwaved in the kitchen (which I believe it was). The rack of ribs were dry, tough and did not fall off the bone. I had to struggle just to cut a rib off the rack and then when I bit into it, the meat was tough. I had to bite down and pull with significant effort to attempt to detach the meat from the bone. The Mac and cheese was bland, there was an absence of cheese and flavor, just macaroni. The fried Mac and cheese was the same thing but fried in a rectangle shape. The corn bread was dry and not sweet at all. The pulled pork was average and not seasoned well. This part was the last straw, my friend offered me some of his brisket. When I grabbed the brisket it was lifeless with a dull light brown color that you often see on either microwaved or rotten meat. I could have sworn what I had in my hand was not a brisket slice but a slice of bacon with how thin it was. I bit into it and it was tough. Once I realized how much effort I had to put into trying to bite the brisket I got up paid $50 (still left a 20% tip because the waitress was nice) and was asked by the waitress if I would like a box to which I replied no thank you. My friends and I left a majority of the food still on the table, which is absurd and I have rarely done so in my life. The only thing we ate completely that was good were the fried pickles. Please beware of this place, I do not understand how they have almost 5 star reviews. My friends and I had just hiked the Appalachian trail for 4 days and 3 nights, We were looking forward to having actual delicious high quality food after eating nothing but ramen noodles and MREs. Our main plan was to go to 12 Bones, but they were closed.

Very good service and awesome food! I had the shrimp & grits. Amazing! The young lady at the counter surprised me with a side since I couldn't decide. She sent over the beans. Wow! I was expecting savory, but this was surprisingly sweet! My husband got the jambalaya and the Cajun fries with maple syrup. I just had to try them. Needless to say, we will DEFINITELY be back next time we are in town!

Food was tremendous and the service was excellent. Super friendly staff. All of the sauces we had were really good also. Was a little apprehensive because honestly never eaten at a "B" sanitation rated restaurant, but the food was better than every other BBQ restaurant we have tried in the Asheville area. Will go back and would recommend.

If you like prim and proper and immaculate restaurants, don't go here. On the other hand, if you love good Cajun cooking and barbecue then this is the place for you. The jambalaya is delicious, the collard green side was well seasoned and tasty, and the cornbread was moist. Definitely will go again!

I was so surprised how good everything tasted from the ribs and chicken down to the corn bread . Friendly staff, everyone was great.

It was bad. I have never left a negative review for a restaurant, but it was really bad. From what I could gather, they are under new management. I don't know if that has something to do with the difference from other reviewers. We spilt a smoked pork plate, and were glad we hadn't ordered individually, because to say it tasted okay would be givinv it too much credit. I will not go back, nor would I recommend it.

We visited after a walk at the park and will be back! Stuffed pepper special was heaven! Cajun rice perfectly seasoned and prepared. Brisket was delicious and smokey. BBQ sauce was sweet with a little heat to finish. Exceptional! Owner checked on us. Nice guy. They grow their own hot peppers! We loved everything. It doesn't look like much on the outside but go on in and grab something delicious..Totally worth repeat visits! Can't wait to try the gator next time!

I didn't know what they were like, but I read some good reviews and figured what the heck. My meal was a simple one, wings and a side order of cornbread. First, the cornbread was absolutely the best I have ever tasted or made in my entire life! The wings were sort of good news, bad news...mostly really good! They seem to be cooked on the grill, which is really cool, except for the fact that they were really, REALLY smoky tasting. That might not of been bad if I had had barbecue sauce on them, but they had a lovely sweet Asian sauce, which got totally lost in all that smokiness. My take away, get as much cornbread as you can afford, because you're always going to want more regardless, and pick a sauce for your wings that will be able to handle the smokiness of the grill.

Local and friendly staffed restaurant. Ribs were too dry and didn’t quite fell of the rack. Friends had pull pork and fried cat fish which they say were good.

Our ribs were burnt. I've never had that happen before. The fried Mac and Cheese wasn't good either. The cornbread still rocked though.

Great bang for the buck. This place is tucked in the corner of a strip mall and did not disappoint. The quality of food was excellent, and the sauces even better! Perfect lunch / dinner spot.
