Ordered a 'tailgate special' by delivery and only got 1 of 2 bags delivered. We called and the manager said they DO NOT give a DoorDash driver the entire completed order and then they tell you that you can drive over and get it. If that were an option I would have picked-up instead of using delivery. They offer no other resolution except to request a refund from DoorDash which we did. DoorDash refunded $8. We then pointed out that the total price of the missing items is much more - not to mention a ruined family dinner. Basically we paid $100 for about $40 worth of food. Strategy? IDK? Beware or better yet just avoid.

This place is so nostalgic, the employees are so great, food is great, atmosphere is great! We love this old style Smithfield location! The music is perfect, couldn't ask for a better family environment. Thank you for being classy compared to most places these days.

Sure it's a chain restaurant. This chain restaurant is amazing for its consistency, quality, and great service. And if you don't like shredded pork barbecue the chicken is phenomenal!

The customer service matches the quality of the food- subpar!

We went when they opened at 10am.
The gray, short haired woman was annoyed someone didn’t show up for work. She was apparently letting that ruin her whole day. She never said thank you or you’re welcome to me once and barely spoke.

There was a woman with black hair pulled into a ponytail that was “walking on eggshells” around the other woman. She was pleasant, but was disgruntled that she spilled the hot sauce for filling up all the mini cups.

I ordered two meals for $32! When I asked for 5 plates, cups and forks there was awkward silence and looks between the employees.
A man in the back line with a tie on said, “ma’am. You ordered two meals, but you want stuff for 5 people ?”.
I told him, “Nevermind. It’ll be fine.” But what I wanted to say is, “yeah, I have 3 kids in the car and a husband. It’s 10am, we’re 10 hours from home and we just want to sample your food.

But! Don’t worry! We won’t be back!

Although the chicken tenders were tasty …that’s where the decency ended.
The potato salad and coleslaw were disgusting. The bbq sauce tastes like Chinese sweet and sour sauce. The baked beans were stringy and mushy. The hush puppies tasted like funnel cakes. The banana pudding was ridiculously artificially flavored. The gallon jug of sweet tea wasn’t even cold.

This place is next door to Bojangles. Go next door !

They will also serve you hair in your potato salad if you don't mind eating human hair. So check through your food carefully.

My Son 17 yr. was told open interviews are Wednesday 2pm to 4pm. We got to The Smithfield chicken BBQ on Jone sausage rd. Garner about 3:00pm. Not only did we have to wait for the manager to get back there. The manager told him that he was losing his voice so he couldn't interview him. I truly believed he looked at my son another black boy. Because I had just left the restaurant and hour earlier he was talking great to me.

Placed an order for wings and fries. This by far is the worst Smithfield I ever ate from. The one in Henderson and Morrisville no problems. The chicken taste it was dipped in sugar and mop water. The fries were cold. Like how? The lady bringing the food had an attitude and slammed my bag down for the gentleman at the window to pick it up. If I could get a refund I would. To bad I drove to far away

Always look forward in stopping in when traveling through NC. Never experienced the treatment I received from the little
Manager lady. There were two $38 tailgate specials posted and I assumed by looking they both had tea inclusive. The one purchased did not. The young cashier said no problem, he would change it over but it required the assistance of that rude manager. She voided the first purchase and rung up not the $38 special, she rung up a $42 package that included tea and didn't even honor my military purchase. Overall I actually paid the additional cost of a gallon of tea that was included with the dark meat special for $38. I challenged the upgraded cost and to prevent making a scene, I just took the additional cost and fed my two little 3 and 4 year old granddaughters and left. Very unhappy but I knew it was not indicative of the normal climate of Smithfield Chicken and Barbecue. Either Indian or oriental, not sure she was but VERY rude and not very friendly or customer oriented at all.
