I haven’t had Greek Food since I moved here from the DMV. I wanted take out. The young lady answered on the second ring,(good sign). Ordered two Gyro platters and a Club Sandwich. The food was delicious. The order was ready when I arrived for pickup. The food was fresh, no French Fries in old grease which tends to make them look brown. This place is not authentic Greek cuisine—it feels more like a Mexican-Greek fusion. Nothing match the Greek theme other than the decoration. The chicken was extremely dry and not a proper shish kebab, which was disappointing. The gyro was passable, but it seemed like a frozen, prepackaged product that was just reheated. As for the baklava, I wouldn’t recommend it at all—it was extremely dry, likely a week old, and didn’t resemble traditional baklava in taste or texture....
I love this little spot. Their marinated chicken is spot on, with more of a vinaigrette marinade than the typical the more ‘Arabic’ types which are just spiced. This type winds up with a great flavor. I often have the shiskabob platter which comes with three pieces of chicken breast on a wooden skewer, french fries, and pita bread. I do find the french fries generic and ask to have them swapped for extra pita bread. I use the pita bread to make little sandwiches with the chicken...
