Indian Food Express, a food truck in Gastonia outside a convenience store, offers some of the best Indian food in NC and the greater Charlotte area under a very affordable budget. The truck serves the most authentic biriyani and great food for a takeout. Dishes include chicken tika masala, chicken roll, chicken kabab, sweet chili wings, and chicken biryani. The chicken egg roll features crisp, flaky parathas with an inner lining of omelette filled with delicious chicken nuggets. Chicken 65 bites come with a drizzle of spicy sauce. The chicken noodles are an absolute delight—comforting, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of spice. The Indian street food style chicken fried rice has that state, though it could be a little more spicy. The palak paneer and chicken tikka come with plain basmati and plain or garlic naan. Service is great and delightful, and the food and meat are fresh. However, the quality has deteriorated significantly since the main chef left, and the biriyani is now substandard. Overall, it is a 10/10 experience.
