I got the veggie plate. The overcooked white rice and two sides of canned carrots. The lady at the end of the line charged me for each individual item instead of the veggie plate, the front cashier had to adjust it. Nearly $9 for something that tasted like heated up leftovers, and the portions are small. The lobby staff were really nice and engaging during my time here.

Stopped at this place and I'm glad I did. Had the Liver with no Onions, Green Beans, Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and a roll. Some of the best Liver I've ever had (outside of my own of course). Everything was good but honestly wasn't really feeling the Mac. Definitely would stop there again if I found myself in the area.
Waiting at the register while the cashier argue with management isn't a good look. Better service and staff required immediately. Don't know why this behavior seem to be common at black establishments.

Ordered food Sunday afternoon, got order home and it was wrong ,called up there said come back today and make it right, returned home today, and today's order was wrong, called up there and was told ,had to call back tomorrow to talk to owner about getting a refund, the manager said she.wasnt allowed to issue a refund. Once again, places raising prices, and service and quality goes down. Unfortunate but understand why so many places go out of buisness.

My husband likes the meatloaf and my favorite is the roast beef. I always get him a plate to go and get a "childs" plate for me for only 5.99.
Jackson's cafeteria has been a staple in Gastonia for over 40+ years for a reason. The food is like grandmother used to make and the employees are friendly. Don't forget the dessert.
