I work down the road from this place. And my gosh if you want some outstanding home cooked meals & or comfort food. This is the place to come I normally get a sausage egg & cheese sandwich every morning or a bacon egg & cheese on a biscuit omelettes outstanding lunch try a grill cheese and bacon yum. And the Sweet Tea OMG if I could order their sweet tea in a 55 gallon drum 😂 I would do it. The sweeter the tea the better. Love Bernie’s. They do get packed depends on time of day. They do try and rush orders out though. But love this place just a small family owned place with outstanding comfort food.

So I'm Carolina born and Carolina bred. When I die I'll be Carolina dead. This is one of the last true southern eateries in existence in my opinion. The food tastes like Memaw made it. The people sound like North Carolinians should sound and the visitors are the kind of people that make it hard to leave the south. The only place to take a Carolina Girl and not have her complain about the liver puddin' if they like it with a good crust as it should be.

Ive been going to Bernies for over 25 years. They always have good, cook to order food. Today, they're out of chicken wings, so i ordered a cheeseburger. I am allergic to mustard, and specifically asked for my burger to be made with onions and tomato only. They brought my burger with onions and mustard on it. I sent it back and all they did was put it on another bun. I took a bite and immediately tasted the mustard that was still on the burger. So I told the waitress that I could not eat this, it still has mustard on it. She wanted to argue with me, so I pulled the burger apart and showed her the mustard still on the burger patty. She took it back, got into an arguement with the cook, because of the way they "fixed" my issue. Next thing I know, I'm asked to never return to Bernie's. I said that they made the mistake and they're taking it out on me. What a shame that these good "old" places want to make a big deal from their mistake. All they had to do was make me a fresh burger, and she wouldve received her tip. Instead, they want to throw out good, loyal customers.

Vegetarian options: Bernie's serves vegetarian food. They serve many vegetables. And different meats.
Parking: Bernie's has a rather small parking lot. Has parking all the way around the building.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly restaurant.
Wheelchair accessibility: Item's like walkers, canes, rollators are accessibility. I personally never seen a wheelchair in the restaurant.
