If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is your go-to place to take friends and family who aren't. I'm not vegetarian but the food is good regardless. I like that the "meats" flavors are unique. I don't know of any other place quite like it. Vegetarians get to feel like they eating meat without the guilt, omnivores get a taste of exotic cuisine. Either way the conversation inevitably strears to, "What is this really made out of?"Service can be slow at times. Sometimes the cleanliness of the place comes into question.

Liked this place in 2019/2020 when I first started coming here but after officially relocating to gso in 2021 I’ve had nothing but multiple bad experiences here. Every single time I’ve had to wait 20+ minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant. One time I even sent my food back THREE times because I kept saying NO peanuts on my pad Thai just for them to keep putting them on and taking off the protein. Another time I came here and it was so salty it was inedible (and I love salt, I put it on everything) but this was so disgusting, it was like they dumped a whole can of salt in my pad Thai as the main seasoning. Even the boba drinks have gone down hill and were lacking flavor. Let’s not forget the roaches that were seen crawling around on the floor as well. I’m glad the owners are finally taking whatever dignity they have left and are shutting the doors for good. This place is awful.

Vegetarian restaurant. I’m not a huge fan but this place….it was delicious. Had the supreme spring rolls and pho soup. Have to say best I’ve ever had! Give it a try. I’ll be coming back!!

Really fantastic vegetarian and vegan food. The meat substitutes are out of this world. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is always spotless. I love going

Boba house is one of those places that is such a secret that it is only spoken about in whispers. Unassumingly snuggled on Tate St on UNCG's campus across from a pizza shop is Boba house. A vegan Vietnamese restaurant that has been around for 20+ years. Boba means bubbles, and the paper ikea round lamps adorning the ceiling are a small play on the name. The place holds maybe 30 at max capacity with mirrors lining the wall for a sense of a much bigger restaurant. A small bar that primarily makes boba teas amongst heavy handed wine pours, beers and ciders. Arrive early is my best advice. Or offtimes. Because this restaurant is so small, to my count only had 3 employees (a cook, bartender and one waitress). Assuming you do get in and seated, be sure to plan to spend 1-2 hours. This is not a quick spot to pop into on the way to a movie, unless you want to miss the first half. Additionally, don't bring a lot of friends. I'm not saying this because I don't want to get the word out. I'm saying it because the tables seat two or four. That is it. And because the restaurant is so narrow, by pushing the tables together, people would have to walk alllllll the way around one side or the other and it makes more sense in this establishment for a center aisle. I haven't gotten to the food yet, and am feeling the urge to knock the rating down several stars. But here's the thing... the staff, food, value, ambiance and presentation add so many stars back that I want to give it a +5 star. Because this is a restaurant let's talk about the food before I go any further. The food is incredible. The freshness, taste, texture, and quality is amazing. Did I mention that is is a vegan restaurant? I would be very happy with this level cuisine at any restaurant. But the thing is this is healthy! Not just "clean" but it is vegan!!??? I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, but I go to this place with my non- vegetarian friends and fam alllll the time. Who am I! Why is it so good? And healthy!? These two do not mix until boba house. Next let's talk about Presentation. The food is gorgeous. Not shown, but they cut carrots into sunflowers for the spring rolls. The attention to detail, taste, it's all just the best. On to the staff. Although there were only three of them, they were the kindest people I have ever met. They were positive, upbeat, and even though it would be 15-30 minutes between seeing a server, it somehow didn't matter. In Boba house, time stands still. I don't think the prices have gone up in 20 years. It's an incredible value and being on a college campus benefits us all. And a little negative to the positive. Parking is nonexistent. Again, it's a college campus, kids are supposed to walk there. My recommendation is to enter Tate street from market st and park on the street before you get to the stores.

This was our first visit to Boba House. We chose it due to its close (7 min drive) to the Tanger Centet. The interior atmosphere was once interesting but now looked shabby with more than half of the Asian lantern balls equipped with dead light bulbs. The food was very off-putting. We ordered: crispy spring rolls, peppered beef and shrimp Pad Thai. My wife said: " this was the worst pad Thai I have ever eaten". The peppered beef was OK. And the crispy spring rolls were tasty. When asked to identify a hidden gem entree, our server rattled off nearly every entree ordered. The whole meal left much to be desired.

Picked up 2 pad Thais to go. Food was bland and portions were small. Pad Thai was also very oily. Will not be returning here

If you are a vegetarian, vegan or not this place is a must visit! Its a full vegetarian restaurant but i promise you will not miss meat! Every dish is so fresh and flavorful. They have plenty of "meat & protein" options that will have you thinking wow! The service is quick, efficient, and very personal, including friendly. The ambiance is so intimate and perfect: very clean and modern. Ideal place for a romantic lunch or dinner or a quaint meeting space. Parking is a bit tricky but worth figuring out. Ok back to this food, it will not disappoint. Everything is cooked to order. The spices, flavor and taste of the food is epic. Shot out to Callie the host and server who was so patient as i ordered so much food as i wanted to try a variety. Again even though it says meat options on the menu it is vegetarian the use the meat alternatives but not the store overly processed type.

My mom and I came to Boba House after looking for somewhere to accommodate both a gluten and dairy allergy. Everything was absolutely amazing and it's such a cute spot. Isabella was our server and she was incredibly attentive and kind! Will definitely be back!

I'm only giving this 3 stars because the food is very good and exactly what one would expect from a vegetarian restaurant. I wish there was a way to give it 3.5 stars. The 4 of us went out Friday eve for the Jewel show at UNCG's renovated Aycock auditorium. We expected it to be busy but we were seated right away. There were only 2 people working in this completely full restaurant. The atmosphere is fairly bland with not a lot of thought put into it. I'm fine with this as long as the service and food are good and the place is clean. We waited 15 minutes before someone even approached the table. I looked around and no one had food, which also means that the kitchen is backed up. She brought waters and did not even offer to take our drink order??? When she passed by the table she looked in our direction and I caught her attention. She reluctantly took our drink order. At least another 10 minutes past and the other young lady came to the table and asked if we wanted drinks. We told her that the other lady took the order and she told us that she was our server and the other girl was the manager and was just helping her out. She retook our order as it was evident that the manager had failed at this complex task, really??? One server for at least 30 people! If this was the manager she must go back to restaurant school for sure for some more training. Why on earth would you only have one server on a Friday night when you have to know there is a concert in town?? We kindly asked the waitress if she could put our order in as we were trying to make the show. She was very very nice and you could tell wanted to please everyone in the place but was terribly overwhelmed and her manager was not that much help and you could tell really didn't care. We ordered the calamari app and the crab app. Both were very good and really had great seafood flavor. I had the Pho and my wife had a rice and mushroom dish, and our friends had a noodle dish All of the food was hot and tasty, no complaints there. All in all I was not too pressed but or friend is a professor at UNCG and did not want to walk into the theatre late as this would be rude to Jewel and other patrons We of course were 20 minutes late even though we had allowed ample time. I will go back but only for lunch, since the owners clearly have no idea how to staff or simply don't care. This place could be so much more!! Don't venture there on a Friday or Saturday, unless you have lots of time and don't care about good service!
