I have a thing for cocktail lounges and once I saw the menu and ratings, I thought it’d be a great vibe to kick off a Saturday night on the town with my family visiting me, to show all Greensboro has to offer. Wrong. To start, we stood inside for about five minutes. Very tight spot, but that was okay as there was also some outside seating we planned to explore. Also, not a very diverse crowd, but that was not an issue. When we finally got up to the bar, we noticed there was only one bartender. He was smiling and casually socializing with other patrons sitting at the bar for maybe 3-4 minutes as he made drinks, glancing over at us a time or two. Finally, he turned, acknowledging my cousin and I before flashing an unwelcoming, borderline “you’re ruining the vibe” look. NO greeting might I add. And right as I leaned in closer to speak to ensure he could hear me over the music, very sternly, he said “There’s a ten minute wait.” before immediately turning and continuing to socialize in the opposite direction. I cannot make this up. Seriously, who says that?! It literally felt like a high school teen movie, “rejection from the cool kids table” scene. Someone else who was already sitting at the bar with a group overheard and turned to look at us then back at him with a raised eyebrow to indicate they also knew it sounded weird. No “I’ll be right with you” or even a simple “how y’all doing tonight”? My cousin is a former server and bartender and even she couldn’t find a reason to justify. If you’re overwhelmed, hire some HELP, though I’m not even sure that was the cause considering the distinct flip-flop of energy. I HATE to ever feel like a place is unwelcoming based on ANY factors, but everyone with me felt very uncomfortable and we ended up going elsewhere and having a great time. I considered testing it out and giving it another “benefit-of-the-doubt” try on a solo night, but it’s left a bad taste in my mouth and I’m writing this a full month later. Word of advice: making a good drink is only half the job.

great drinks. rude bartender. I was accused of not even paying for one of my drinks because he forgot to make it. if you can't handle the rush don't take it out on the customers.
Fantastic cocktail lounge! Went with Friends before dinner and had a blast. Little place big flavor! I had the Bread and Butter. This cocktail was so good and different. Summer in a glass!

Cocktail Cove is hands-down my favorite spot in Greensboro! Mike is absolutely amazing—his energy, creativity, and attention to detail make every visit a treat. The cocktails here are on another level—balanced, unique, and consistently the best in the city. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just want something delicious and well-crafted, this is the place. Can’t recommend it enough!

Very fun cocktail place. Bar on one side with high tops along the walls, band playing on the other side with more seating.
The menu was exciting and clearly well thought out. There was a consistent theme for drinks, practically everything had a creative twist to it, and everything we tried was well made.
I have only visited once, but the bartender working was an absolute machine. There seemed to about as many people as the place could handle and he was non-stop mixing complicated drinks with speed, accuracy, and a smile on his face. I would seriously go back just to see him work again.

Stop in and say hi to Matt! He’s creating delicious and unique cocktails. Small inside, but also has small back patio and also shares space with McGee. Juices and flavors are fresh made.
