Called to place an order, was told “I’m the only guy one working and have a line out the door, maybe you should call later”. Received attitude the whole time I placed my order.

The Best Place Ever!

I ordered a cake online from Dewey’s Bakery for my business anniversary celebration. I chose the “Basic Cake – No Decoration” option with simple black writing to keep it modern and classic. When my husband picked it up, I was surprised to see black dots piped around the top and bottom borders, which made it look more like a child’s birthday cake than a professional business cake.

I called the store that evening to explain the issue and asked if a new cake could be ready the next morning since my event started at 8:00 AM. I was told no manager was available but someone would reach out Monday — which wasn’t acceptable given the time sensitivity. I was expecting a manager to call me back that night, but no one ever did. I called again and still never received a follow-up.

My event came and went, and I was left with a cake that didn’t reflect my order or my brand. Unfortunately, attention to detail and customer service both missed the mark here. Buyers should be aware when selecting a bakery for an important occasion.

Saw a video from a content creator on TikTok and thought I would try it. It’s cute, clean and the young lady who was working on Sunday, September 28th, was so sweet and friendly. The cake slices are delicious!! We will definitely be back!!

I ordered six flower decorated cupcakes and they were too pretty to eat! Just gorgeous! And we did eat them and they were great!
What a beautiful job Dewey’s did for us and will always get my bakery needs at Dewey’s!!!
Thanks so much

This is THE BEST bakery I’ve been too in a good long time. Excellent pies, cakes, and brownies. Fun ice cream sundaes. Adorable NC themed and seasonal decor. Dewey’s is absolutely a destination in GSO!

This place is usually fantastic, I just got a cake from them last week and it was great. Unfortunately, I recently called in to place an order and the person who picked up seemed wildly uninterested in helping me. I will not be completing my order simply based off of the uncalled for attitude.

The young lady Cassy is an absolute doll of a person and always great to stop by for their free cake Monday’s.

The absolute worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. We were the only customers there, yet I waited nearly 15 minutes just to be handed a cream horn. One employee was glued to her phone while the other didn’t even notice when one of us walked up to the counter for something else. He stood there waiting for several minutes, but neither of them came over, so he gave up and returned to the table complaining about how bad the service was. To make matters worse, neither of the girls had their hair tied back or covered, which made the whole experience even less professional. We won't be back. 'Nothing Bunt Cake' is in walking distance, I'd recommend going there instead.

Located in Friendly Town Center, was a pleasant break from
Shopping nearby. They had a large assortment of baked goods and ice cream. Once a family owned bakery it has now sold out to new owners and everything is made in Winston Salem.
We had a lemon bar and a chocolate chip cookie. They have tables and chairs inside to sit and savor.

Delicious ice cream, cake, and cookie dishes, fun gift shop, and friendly staff. Highly recommend. And free cake on Mondays!

The best bakery! Very nice establishment with friendly and generous staff. I ordered a few slices of cake and they gave me so much extra that I had to give some to my family! Love them!

I hate that Dewey's isn't what it used to be. We tried our favorites from Winston days. Napoleon (pastry is not flaky any more, filling taste like JELLO cheesecake), cream horn (ok) and lemon bar (old pastry and the custard didnt have the lemon bite to it). Second time to be disappointed.
For the ones that didnt know Deweys before....it was the best bakery. It was worth driving to driving to Winston for. The one at friendly hasnt reminded me of the bakery I grew up on yet.
