Hickory Tree Turkey BBQ

Been eating here over 10 years. I came a few months ago the food was garbage and has always been great. I was introducing some people who just moved here to this place because they don’t eat pork, so I just felt in over 10 years I have never had a complaint maybe it was just a bad day. So I finally get over it and give them another try today, it was worse than last time. Half cooked turkey necks over plain rice not a drop of gravy, got a pound of Turkey bbq and one very small sauce is all they gave me, and then didn’t give me all of my order. I am highly disappointed because I have always spoken highly of this establishment, sadly I don’t feel myself or my family will be returning. Spending that kind of money to have to throw food away is not good.

Went to Rock Out the Quarry. I wish that I hadn't tried the soul rolls it was the most disappointing entree that I've tasted here lately. This is nothing like soul rolls that I've had in the past. There was no meat, no yams, and you can tell that the mac and cheesr was processed not from scratch. Gave the last roll to my daughter and she stated that it tasted interesting with a bad after tasted. Please don't call these Soul Rolls with just two ingredients. Totally not worth $8 a roll. It's my fault for not going to read the menu myself.

I love going to this restaurant and am pleasantly surprised when I see their food truck. The macaroni and cheese with the turkey bbq on top is excellent as is the soul roll.

Visited their food truck. Turns out they were cranking through register orders as fast as they possibly could, dumping the order in a bucket and basically pulling it at random to fill the order. Actually had someone pass out in the heat while waiting for the to fill the order. Probably hear 3-5 ticket #'s both before ours and after ours get filled with our exact order. As they started to get higher and higher away from our ticket idk if we'd have gotten called unless we asked like we did. Probably 20 order ticket #'s higher than ours when we asked and got our food. People said they had been waiting anywhere from 45 min to over an hour for their food

I was met with a warm smile and friendly attitude. They were very patient and made recommendations for me and my family. I ordered the world famous Crack and Cheese Turkey leg. It was hot, tender and well seasoned. The amazing mix of the turkey, mac and cheese, sauce and turkey crackling was amazing. I high recommend if you are in the area you stop by. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area.

Food Truck Night Memorial Day in North Carolina … great customer service …. Atmosphere absolutely amazing … the food unfortunately was not as good as i expected. I ordered the jerk bowl w/ Mac and cheese and bbq beans and everything tasted sweet and the Mac didn’t taste like anything. Maybe it was just a long day but i was disappointed ☹️

It's a take-out spot. What atmosphere? I traveled to Greensboro to visit my son and stopped by Hickory Tree. I picked up 2 turkey sandwich dinners( one for me and one to share), greens,yams,fries, baked beans, and a medium crack and cheese. Everything was delicious. I plan to stop by again on a future visit.

I ordered my food the day before. Went to pick it up, and my order wasn't even started. The guy is on the phone, doesn't greet me. He has an irrated look on his face. It's not very welcoming. I finally receive my food. And paying $23 for this supposed cracked stuffed turkey was insane of me to do. Turkey was old. Mac and cheese needs to be renamed. It was old, dry, and greasy. Definitely doesn't taste homemade. Mac and cheese was just lying on top of the turkey. Not stuffed. I also ordered turkey and gravy. The best part was the plain rice. Absolutely no flavor!!!! Everything tasted old. So if you want bad service and bad food, this is the place to go. Highly dissatisfied!! Waste of money.

The heat index inside this establishment is hotter than others. I stood outside after placing my order. I didn't like that there was a huge bucket with lemonade on top of the counter. The person who took my order recommended the soul roll. I was skeptical. However, when fresh, it's good.

The food looks and tastes days old. Spent almost $50 and highly disappointed. The mac and cheese is box mac and cheese with velveeta or some sort of cheese spread and it was disgusting. The crack n mac everybody talks about? Trash. Again box mac and cheese very dry turkey was dry and tasted old. Made my stomach ache instantly so I threw it away. Although I ordered the dinner no hushpuppies were included like mentioned on the menu. Also I started to get some of the pink lemonade but it was on the counter without a lid and flies swarming around. You don’t smell food being cooked. Its like they want you to wait outside and bring it to you so they can microwave the food like mentioned in another review. This food was definitely days old. 3 stars for the cashier she was friendly but her hairnet was not properly on. Atmosphere 1 star. The place looks unkept on a consistent basis the floor was sticky. Before considering eating here consider mcds first. Ijs

The smoked turkey leg was cooked to perfection. Our sides, the collards and mac & cheese, were seasoned and cooked extremely well. The crack and cheese was also a fun side.

Terrible experience. I ordered a turkey bbq sandwich and fries. I’m the ONLY customer in the establishment the whole time. They hand me a buzzer. I’m like ok how long does a sandwich and fry take? 20mins later I go back in to see what’s going on because buzzer never went off. They go on to say it’s the fries that’s the hold up and if want to leave quicker to pick another side. Ok cool. I picked peach cobbler. The lady behind the wall goes to the microwave I hear the beep I hear her type in the time and I hear it go off. She comes handing me this lousy sandwich and microwaved cobbler. Will NOT be back.
