The food was pretty good. They weren't ready for dinner when we arrived at 3 so some dinner items weren't available. We had the short ribs and medallion filets. The tomato soup was excellent.

Incredible food with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs and the atmosphere is amazing with a dining room that contains an original tin ceiling and an awesome bar with woodwork over 100 years old. The food ranges from fancy well seasoned short rib risotto, blackened salmon with succotash, shrimp and grits that is better than I had on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. There is a gorgeous outdoor patio with plenty of seating and they are even pet friendly with the outdoor area. They have a great wait staff and the best thing is they are owned by a local family and the owner is actually the chef working in the kitchen and completely hands-on.

First visit after a visit to the Civil Rights Museum in Elm Street. Great service and creative menu. 2 in my party and we ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and I had the tomato soup and 1/2 turkey and havarti sandwich. Great food and excellent service.
A pleasant spot in Downtown Greensboro, recommended!

I'm extremely disappointed, 60 dollars for 2 plates of this.. the vegetables are definitely frozen and bland.. salmon ok, but this is definitely not worth 60 bucks just salmon laid on top of frozen veggies.. and it was my first and probably last time going here. The owner responded that it was a 16.00 plate I can definitely show my receipt, I literally paid 57.00 for 2 plates of this
Had a great time having a lunch with a friend. In particular really enjoyed the variety on the Oak Board. Elyse was such a sweetheart of a waitress, really took time to make sure we had what we needed.

It was very loud with everyone talking. It was hard to hear the people at our table. But the food was excellent and the portions were large. You would not be hungry after their meal.

The food is not fresh- or cooked there. It was reheated in the microwave and not fresh but frozen. It is also not clean. Not impressed and wonβt be back. Do not recommend. Also VERY expensive for bad food.

Mixed bag. The pile of trash in the street out front was a little shocking but it's downtown...Our waitress was fantastic, no complaints only compliments. The biggest negative was that the general feeling among our party was that the Liberty was just not that special anymore. Paper napkins and K&W level cutlery are not the hallmarks of a once great eating establishment. No bread service or dinner rolls just pita slices further added to our disappointment. The short ribs were great as was the salmon but I'm not sure how to classify the $35 Ribeye...other than to say that ownership can do better. People will pay for a great steak so don't cheap out. The bathrooms were really clean. I really want to go back so hey ownership guys step your game up.

We went out to celebrate a special occasion and were lucky to get a cozy table for 2 in the corner.
Our server, Pam was wonderful and cheerful!
I had the blackened salmon dinner which was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice and succatash were delicious accompaniments. A glass of Hullabaloo zinfandel was a nice pairing.
Hubby had the maple-glazed sea scallops, pimento cheese potatoes, and subbed a Caeser salad for the asparagus. He got a sufficiently potent rum and Coke.
For dessert we shared a blueberry bread pudding with vanilla ice cream.
Everything was delicious and we enjoyed a lovely evening.

Our first visit here and we were not disappointed. The Liberty Oak's staff was friendly and the food was very delicious.
Our server, Laurel, was fantastic and attentive. My dish, ribeye steak (medium rare), was perfectly prepared and super tender. As a steak lover, this was among the best I've had.... and I've had plenty. The truffle fries and fried oysters were tasty and different, very good. Red Velvet cake and Stawberry shortcake desserts were very delicious. This spot is a hidden gem in downtown Greensboro and I highly recommend giving them a try. You won't be disappointed.
