I took a friend to Machete for her birthday last night. This was my second time and her first. I indicated my friend's birthday in the reservation but that was not recognized unfortunately. Machete serves small plates and this is my favorite style of dining and I have favorite restaurants of this style in several cities. The ambiance and service was absolutely incredible. The food was creative and pretty tasty BUT the teeny tiny portion sizes are almost laughable. I have eaten at fine restaurants all over the country, many Michelin star and never in my life have I seen portion sizes this tiny. You have to order many plates which will come out to several hundred dollars and you will still walk away hungry.
