Went to Maxi B’s yesterday for the first time in a few months, I was ready to get my favorite slice of red velvet cake… Maxi B’s usually serves generous portions, which to me makes it well worth it for the drive. I was super disappointed to find that they gave a an exceptionally small slice of cake, and not to mention they went up in price for the second or third time in the past two years. I do understand about inflation, but I also don’t feel that the slice of cake I received was worth the seven dollars and change that I paid for it. But the cake itself was delicious.

I wanted to get my wife something special for her birthday, so I splurged and got a cake from here. The cake was decorated beautifully, but that's about the only thing that I loved about it. The cake itself was a bit dense and dry, and the icing was overly sweet. At a $90 price tag, I expect much better. There is definitely better tasting cake out there. If you are only concerned about something that looks good, then this is the place for you. If taste and value are important to you, I'd recommend you look elsewhere. Way overpriced for what you get (aside from the appearance).

Sweet treats and warm drinks! I had an "18 carat" cupcake and an organic vanilla cardamom white tea. Everything is beautifully displayed, so choosing is no easy thing. The cupcake was above average on sweetness but still within my sweetness preference (as in not over the top sweet). It balanced well with my tea, which I took without adding sugar. The sitting area is welcoming and cozy, perfect for gathering with friends. I will definitely be going back. Often.

So, the owners are amazing, staff is great! I just find the food way way overpriced and not that good. Things are often dry, and not good. I bought 12 cupcakes for a Christmas party, the price was outrageous. If I had planned better, I would not have done it. I've tried several times over the years, and I don't get the hype other than there are not many bakeries around.

Lovely place. Beautiful seating areas. I have been here twice. Both times I have been disappointed in my choice. Last time I bought Boston Cream pie. Not enough custard. on cake.And not much flavor. Today I chose Chocolate mousse cake, Frosting way to sweet and to much frosting and a whole lot of mousse. The cake should have been thicker. There was more mousse than cake. Way to sweet. To much frosting compared to thickness of cake.
