I love this business and it is still around after all these years. I just wish they had one person on the food, ice cream tables and someone different handling the money. Maybe they will see this and just hire a cashier. And that's my scoop

Great ice cream! This was the second time I've had Mayberry ice cream and it was very good. I'm pretty sure our server was new, because it took a long time to get our ice cream because they had to remake it twice. Otherwise, we had a good experience.

Oldest ice cream shop in the state of North Carolina. Opened in 1949 and still going. I asked for their recommendation for some ice cream, generally preferring to get some that I can't find elsewhere. They had 3 flavors I haven't seen anywhere else...banana pudding, lemon crisp, and apple crisp. We tried each and were very glad we did. Stop in and enjoy a blast from the past.

The food was mid but I really didn’t like the way the older lady acted.
A woman in front of the store asked me to buy her a hot dog and I asked her to come in and order what she wanted. The young woman and man rolled their eyes and the old lady didn’t even greet me but immediately started chastising the lady I bought in from outside. I interrupted her and told her I’m buying her food so it was fine. She called the lady from outside to the back and said something to her that I couldn’t hear. I really cannot stand mean spirited people because you never know when you will be the one in need. Mind you, it’s the season of thansGIVING.
I said all that to say I will never patronize here again. God doesn’t like ugly and I don’t either. Then had the audacity to be singing a gospel song as they made the food. I hope you all have the day you deserve.
