MJ's Restaurant and Catering

We've dined here a lot and have recommended it to friends. We've had stretches of absence because they discontinue entrees we like. Like Scallops over Risotto. So we returned last evening with a friend to try the Pasta with Lamb Bolognese. I saw Lamb Bolognese on MJ's Website/Menu 2 days ago. When we were seated last night, we saw that Lamb Bolognese was not on the Menu. The waitress apologized and said the Lamb Bolognese was 2 or 3 menu changes ago and that the Website needed to be updated. We tried the Crabcake Special. It was average at best. Too much filler and enough crab. I'm shooting you straight on our experience and taking the time to type this out. We have met the owner/chef and like him. Good Dude. This review is meant to be constructive.

The food was great, but our server never told us about and special and wasn't very attentive. It took over 10 minutes to have our waters refilled and we have to ask for another drink. Mostly we were upset about not hearing the specials after hearing her give the specials to another table and seeing them come out. We would have loved to have tried them.

Ashley was our awesome waitress. She was there when we needed her and gave helpful suggestions and descriptions of dinner options. One in our party had a low sodium diet and was so pleased that each entrée is specifically prepared. The chef made the tuna entree low sodium. I love the atmosphere of dining in a home. We had delightful evening and a most delicious meal exclamation.

Fantastic service. The first reservation we've made on Open Table where they read and responded to dietary preferences listed in our profile. Food was excellent - fried green tomatoes with pimiento cheese, pork tenderloin (so tender!) and vegetable pasta. The outdoor patio fondly reminds me of the former Rainbow News & Cafe in Winston-Salem. We will definitely return when we're in Greensboro.

As always with every visit to MJ's, our experience was impeccable. Service was like no other and the food was AMAZING!! Looking forward to our next visit there.

The food was delicious. Only issue we really had is two of us ordered the 8oz. tenderloin which was supposed to have crab hollandaise on it. It was rather pricey. Neither one of us saw or tasted a bit of crab on the steak. It was delicious otherwise. This was the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Excellent service in a quiet ambiance. Bone in ribeye w/truffle french fries was the best I've had in NC. Will visit again soon. Thank you

Rachel and I ate at MJ's Saturday night and it was one of the Best meals that I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Michael Angelo is alive and well and working as a chef at MJ's. There is No Way that this restaurant is a 4.7, its got to be a solid 5. If you want the Best meal that you have ever eaten, try MJ's. You will be glad that you did !

Iam from new York and i was Looking for food that wasnt loaded with salt and butter and I believe I found it! My waitress was phenomenal, great personality. I noticed the gentleman waiting on the other table, and he was even better. I can see the people take pride in what's going on in the restaurant. My meal was also good. Never in a million years would I mix pickled cucumbers with calamari, but, I must say it was so good together. The shrimp and grits were loaded with flavor although I would have opted for less sauce if I had known. But great tastes altogether. I will return and I absolutely recommend it. Special thanks to my waitress although I dont remember her name.

First time here. It was warm and welcoming. All the food sounded good. The margarita was a tad strong but i think that's a good thing! I'll definitely return. What made this even better was getting to spend time with my dear friend ♥️.
