Monster Steaks is a company that sends trucks out to many cities & towns to sell their "Gourmet Meats". The "Gourmet Meats" are NOT what they advertise! I purchased 2 family steak packages with a discount on the 2nd one because I bought the first one. They were rambling & very confusing about their prices when they were hard selling the extras, while giving the scallops and pork chops free. The first thing the wife told me was that they sell their grass-fed beef to several high quality restaurants, named a few real fast but I knew a few of them. The first steak I tried was a filet. Definitely not "gourmet"! I took the 2lb bag of scallops to my daughters house 2hrs away in a cooler with plenty of ice to keep it frozen, but it was almost completely thawed out when I arrived. The large bag was about half full of watered, milky liquid! So, I used many paper towels to absorb as much of it from the scallops as possible before adding them to the hot skillet with melted butter. They started shrinking immediately down to the size of bay scallops and were very 'chewy'! NOT gourmet scallops either! Another thing I realized is that there is so much water in the meats that when you thaw it out, the meat shrinks significantly inside the package. Our thoughts are that they're pumping the meat with water and quickly flash freezing them so they are plumped and weigh more. The friend I bought the 2nd family package for is a great cook and usually makes super nice gourmet meals for her husband. She had to take most of the beef, marinate for 24hrs and use it in a beef stew just to make it palatable. I could go on and on about the meats and they way they're sold, but I don't have enough room! My daughter & her husband had the same things to say about it, even that one of the strip steaks he cooked had a purple hue, much like deer meat looks like. Hmm, wondering where they get this meat! Since the owner of this company made the ONLY customer review at a 5 star! Didn't know you could review your own company, but whatever. Tooting his own horn I guess. I've contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. I made two separate comments on the Monster Steaks FB page. The first one was deleted before I could copy it, but the 2nd one was copied. I also sent the owner an email trying to get someone to get in touch with me. Nobody responded to any of my requests. I also tried the phone number on their website, it rang many times and again, nobody answered or returned my call. This is just a warning about Monster Steaks, making a fortune off of people who, in this time of the pandemic, need not be scammed like this. Very angry to waste $400 on 'gourmet' meat and not be able to eat it! GRR

This meat was presented to me as quality steaks and this isn't the truth. I bought 2 family packages and both aren't as they were presented. The steaks, no matter how cooked, are very tough, stringy and not tasty. It seems as though the meat has been manipulated or is from old cattle. Even the Scallops weren't as good as they look. Those big juicy scallops ended up being the size of bay scallops and rubbery. I've not ever seen so much water come out of a Sea Scallop! I can only talk about the meat & scallops as I didn't get any of the chicken or other things they're selling and this leads me to believe something isn't right with the food they're selling! Still waiting on a response from the FB post I left for them.

They have great meat and great customer service. My personal favorite are the New York Strips but my kids love the chicken tenders.
