This restaurant has always been a "go to" restaurant for my wife and I. When we were trying to figure out where to host a rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding party, we remembered that we had heard they do this type of service. Working with Mary to plan this event was a pleasure. She was incredibly helpful and her suggestions were "spot on" for what she heard from us with what we wanted. Caroline, the head waitress for our dinner was 100% focused on our needs. And Tom, the chef, provided the usually delicious appetizers and entree's. A great evening! Thanks!!

If I could give this a 6+ star review I would. Honestly one of the best places we’ve been to in Greensboro bar none. And one of the best Italian places I’ve ever been to, including the authentic Italian restaurants we used to frequent in Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Thank you Tom (chef and owner) and Mary (hostess and owner) for an amazing experience.Nothing compares to first impressions. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by the friendliest staff. Coach check? Yes. Friendly faces? Yes. Authentic Italian vibe? Yes.We did not have reservations, so we bellied up to the bar in comfortable leather seating by an inviting bar scene. Our bartender, Ashley, was second to none. Friendly, funny and made some of the best cocktails in town. My wife had an espresso martini, which she said was one of the best she’s ever had. You can just feel the expertise of an experienced bartender. She attended to every patron at the bar without skipping a step. This was a Saturday evening, packed to the brim. We could have been the only ones there given the amount of personal attention we were given. Hats off to Ashley, thank you.The food is where this place shines and takes it to another level. We started off with escargot. But not your typical wannabe escargot. It melted in your mouth, soft and tender. Many places will serve this dish, but it’s a delicacy that if not cooked properly, is either chewy or undercooked. This was perfection. After the escargot, we dipped the fresh, homemade Italian bread into the leftover sauce. Heavenly. We then enjoyed the gnocchi appetizer. Not only was the gnocchi cooked to perfection, but the flavors of the cheesy gorgonzola cream sauce complemented it perfectly. The main event was next. Scallops alla Soave: pan seared scallops bathed in a lemon and butter white wine sauce. The tenderness of the scallops was in tune with the creamy sauce that sang a melody of flavors in perfect harmony with each and every bite. We had a mushroom and steak bisque to accompany our main course. Let the picture speak for itself. Thank you chef Tom for this experience. If you want to have an amazing evening out for any occasion, or just to enjoy great food and drink, make sure you don’t miss out on this outstanding establishment. Thank you for a one of a kind experience!

We hadn't been in years...........a lot of years and decided to try it out again. New owners so we dined here. First, the people are very friendly and the service was very good. The atmosphere is very nice as well. The menu a bit dated and Americanized. The fried calamari was tasty but a bit greasy, especially the bottom of the pile. The serving size was big. The sauce was a nice spin on a traditional marinara. The house salad was terrible. The lettuce was fine but the tomato was pale and tasteless. The dressing was not to our liking at all. Note to self: try another dressing next time. I had the chicken marsala. It was a huge serving and I have never seen it served over spaghetti, The menu has a lot of things over spaghetti. Not good. The marsala flavor was light and the sauce too watery. The overall flavor was pleasant though. The Shrimp and Scallop Rosina was HUGE. There were three of each but they were on the rubbery side. Overall, we would not order that again. The star of the night was the lemon mascarpone cake. It was light and delicious. We would return just for that. We will give it another try and hopefully find a hidden gem on the menu better to our liking.

Wonderful Italian, upscale dining ?! Highly recommend a special, the Grouper over Pasta with a buttery pesto sauce. It was a wonderful combination. My hats off the the chef!

No words can explain how amazing the food and service were at this family-owned restaurant. I woke up the next morning thinking about when I would go back. It was absolutely delicious, and our server Chad was amazing!!

My wife had the linguini pescatore and loved it. I had the chicken parmigiana; some of the best I have had. The steak and mushroom soup was out of this world. Service was stellar; Hunter was attentive and helpful. Love this place!

Easily our best Italian dining experience in Greensboro. The dining room itself was nice - you didn't feel like you were in somebody else's space. Friendly and helpful employees across the board. The chef(?) came out to ask about our meals and our waiter Hunter was great. They were willing to alter one of our dishes to meet dietary restrictions. But most importantly, our dishes were all very good (and very large). We will be back to try different options from their menu.

We normally love Salvinos as we have ALWAYS had an excellent experience & we always recommend it. Tonight was very different! Our server was all over the place. Never asked if we wanted drinks, forgot our appetizer, was fumbling items as he was taking them off our table. Then there was the food. My pollo piccata was dry, the pasta was way to aldente and my son said his mushroom ravioli tasted like gravy soaked in a wine barrel.. my husbands plate was delicious though so that was a plus. They did give us free desert because the server knew he forgot a few things. We did appreciate that and our desert was amazing. I hope next time we come it will be superb like all the times before… ??.

Everything about our dinner experience was excellent! The food is truly authentic Italian. From the moment you walk into this restaurant you feel like you're in an Italian kitchen. The aromas from the kitchen start your experience! Then the service starts and never ends. Your water, wine glass and bread basket are never empty. The food is so delicious and you will be savoring every bite! We were celebrating a birthday and the waitstaff went above and beyond to make it a wonderful celebration. We will definitely return to Salvino again and again!
