I was in the restaurant On 10/12/2025. In town for GHOE, wanted a great restaurant with good food and nice atmosphere to celebrate my pending birthday and end the weekend on a high. My wife and I had been to Luxe for lunch a few months back during a day trip so this is where I wanted to end GHOE. Upon arrival I was told there would be an hour wait with no reservations. Cool. Understandable. After an hour’s wait, I approached the hostess and asked again about the wait. Was told due to the size of the party (8) we had to wait a little longer. Cool. No problem. As we approached hour 2, I assume the Manager / Owner was now handling the hostess duties and advised that reservations were now taking priority. Sir, you opened at noon, I was there from 12:20 to 2:30!!! When do I become a priority!!! Time is money!! And if my time is not YOUR priority then neither is my money!! I will never return to your establishment ever again!
Great food! Friendly staff! Short wait time! Excellent experience!

The 5 star reviews did not lie!!! We are from CT and googled soul food restaurants in Greensboro and Luxe looked so good to us! We were NOT disappointed!!! Between the three of us, we ordered the fried flounder, the Luxe wings, collards, mac & cheese, yams, sweet potato, and the peach cobbler. Every single thing was absolutely delicious! Very flavorful! Very generous portions! Food came quickly, and our server was super sweet! I wish we lived in the area… We would come here every week!

I recently visited Luxe and was disappointed with the overall experience. I ordered the wing platter with Luxe flavor, rice and gravy, and collard greens. The wings were good with a sweet chili flavor, but the rice and gravy were served lukewarm instead of hot.
My sister had the fried fish with sweet potatoes and collards. The sweet potatoes had no flavor, and the cornbread that came with both meals was grainy. I ended up asking for a roll instead, which thankfully was soft and warm.
The biggest issue, however, was the flies. We were swatting them away from our faces and food every couple of minutes. It made eating uncomfortable and felt very unsanitary.

Best dang collards I've had in a long while. All the food was great southern style soul food that's good for your soul too. Nice selection of drafts and mixed drinks! I was by myself so sat at bar and can tell you they don't skimp on the alcohol, and didn't use that cheap liquor, she used midshelf and topshelf bottles. 3 drinks i had were tasty just like the food.
Can't wait to go back.
Covieniantly located downtown just around back of the Tanger Center.
I highly recommend this place as the food was delicious and the people there were so friendly and nice and they took pride in Luxe. Rare in today's world. A true melting pot of humanity.
Like my momma cooked when we lived on the farm. She might have been a Christian white woman but she cooked with a southern soul and taught me to cook the same way. Her homemade biscuits made with lard and real homemade buttermilk. They were local famous. Some fresh made butter and some blackstrap molasses was a poor man's lunch for me many a day.
Thanks LUXE for the memories!

1st time going yesterday. My overall food was a 2/5. The fried chicken was Ok, mac- chez bites was OK, mac-chez was 3/5 to much garlic, okra-no flavor
I waited for ketchup for okra 10 minutes or more. The atmosphere is not what was expected, they have a dress code which most of the guest wasn't going by. With their dress code expectation you will expect to have elegant ambience. It was not impressive. The soulfood was different than southern style soul food. It wasn't the best.

I was looking forward to not only supporting a black business, which I'm a stickler for, but was very disappointed to have been turned away after just driving 7.5 hours from Maryland due to me having on rubber sole slides. I was told that there was a dress code in place and that what I had on my feet wasn't appropriate, and it didn't matter that I couldn't wear shoes due to surgery I had. The two gentlemen outside turned away an additional nine people for the same reason but were kind about it. Their reason was they were trying to maintain an upscale, comfortable, and family-friendly social dining experience for everyone, and enforcing their dress code would prohibit guests from entering their establishment in an undesirable manner. While I understand that completely, my clothing was very impressive, but what I had on my feet got me turned away. I wasn't allowed to come in and dine based on my character, but by what was on my feet. They didn't even let me go inside the building. What was interesting to me, they allowed a few females in who's behind cheeks showed, bikini-type tops on which slightly revealed way too much cleavage. There were multiple holes in their jeans and a couple of them had on hoochie shorts, but I got turned away for a sandal on my foot. In addition, I thought about all the money they lost that day due to this policy. I counted the number of people they turned away while I was there, and based on their menu prices, I did an average, and they lost a good amount of money. Not to mention the servers lost tips. Black businesses already suffer enough financially due to the lack of support, but it's obvious they don't care about that. I won't be going back there.

The lighting, little loudness and my seating was not so comfortable. Even with all that the food was pretty good. The biggest turkey wings I ever had. What ever the lamb chops are marinated in it's FIRE sooooo freaking good. Will be back again before going home.

We had an awesome time celebrating my cousin Katrina at this great place. The atmosphere was perfect and the birthday song that the staff sang was divine. Our server, Sariah, took great care of our table. Her customer service was wonderful. We will definitely be visiting this establishment again. Thanks for the lasting memories
