There was two girls that looked stresssd out with all the tables. The wait time was long and it took over an hour to get the food. Food was delicious but I do feel like some changes can be made as far as the presentation because of the price. I could not understand the theme of the place. Taking some time to make the atmosphere match the food would be so good for this business. Heck I wish I could do it for free because it has so much potential. Bottomless mimosas was not available at the time also.

This was the the most infuriating experience I've ever had at a restaurant.

Let me start from the top:

They sat and forgot to not only give us menus but also to take our order. They didn't give us menus until ten minutes after they sat us and after 15 minutes we had to FLAG SOMEONE DOWN to get our orders taken.

That would have been water under the bridge if the rest of the experience was good.

We got there at 2pm and did not get our food until 4pm. Why? Because according to the owner, it takes 20 minutes to cook the chicken and apparently they have a single fryer. Everybody ordered chicken and waffles, and you would think that they would warn people, but no. We only got an explaination on the wait time after we inquired if the kitchen had lost our ticket to possibly explain the wait time. The owner had the audacity to tell us "everything is made to order, so it takes a while" well if that's the case, maybe everything shouldn't be "made to order". Especially if you know an item is popular why would you not prepare for a rush. They also mentioned our waffles were ready 30 minutes before our food was served to us. This leads me to believe that the waffles were just sitting there as our chicken was cooking, which is crazy because our waffles weren’t cooked fully as they were gummy in the middle. Honestly the stupidity of the entire situation left me more baffled than anything else.

I sat there in disbelief as the minutes ticked by, the ridiculousness of our situation growing. Then a table that came in 40 minutes before we got our food AT 4 PM (when they are closed) got their food at the same time. Let me explain the implications of that in case you're not following, THEY HADNT EVEN DROPPED OUR CHICKEN IN THE FRYER
YET. OUR CHICKEN AND THEIR CHICKEN WERE IN THE SAME BATCH. I'm all for supporting black businesses but this one is poorly managed. I will never be coming back and will be telling everyone I know to never go. I would send out an APB if I could.

In conclusion the best time to come in is right before they close because you will be the last round of orders and the wait time will be reasonable.

This place has a great vibe, with a little bit of down home soul, but of a wait time for food, but well worth it! You will not be disappointed, come check it out! My new breakfast place! ☺️

They have no staff there are two people there that are covering. I guess the kitchen and the dining room and we’re all sitting there looking around and it’s very expensive. It was $15 for chicken and waffles but they have no service whatsoever. I asked for a sweet tea and it came in a plastic bottle that had been refilled. I needed to leave before I got any food whatsoever. And I don’t drink out of a plastic bottle that has no label on it. That has obviously been reused.

I love a place that has a simple menu! The breakfast spot has great food, plenty of parking, and wonderful customer service. The food is hot, fresh and comforting. I will admit I did find the pricing to a be a bit expensive for breakfast. Breakfast is supposed to be the cheapest meal of the day and I spent $22 for pancakes, bacon, egg and grits.

I’ve had several wonderful experiences here. I always make sure to ask for the girl with the short, red hair. She’s amazing. Always makes sure our food is good and she is very pleasant with casual conversation. The food has always been top tier and not bad for the price. I definitely recommend eating here.

Kid-friendliness: They have games that you can play while waiting for food.

I am not from.North Carolina but read the reviews and was excited to support this "black owned, woman owned business".
Service and atmosphere was great! The pancakes were great, but there are opportunities for improvement.
For our table, we ordered a total of 6 over easy eggs, but 4 of the 6 were cooked over hard. The pork sausage was hard and there was pink in the middle. When I brought it to the servers attention that the eggs were not as requested, the manager/cook didn't want to remake them, but instead offered to comp my coffee.
If I visit again, I'll try something else on the menu.

Waited an hour and 10 minutes for a to go order for 2 people. One order was just a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. I tried to order the same on a biscuit and I kid you not, the lady looked at me and said “we don’t have biscuits.” I’m sorry, the literal first item on your menu is a buttermilk biscuit??? No pancake syrup in the bag for the pancakes.

Set your expectations and see if it's for you. We paid over $40 for 3 pieces of french toast, 1 single piece of sausage, 1 waffle, 4 pieces of bacon and an orange juice. We were served on paper plates with plastic silverware and cups. In my opinion this is highly overpriced for not even being served on appropriate glassware.

The food was OK, it really wasn't anything to write home about. Wasn't bad, wasn't mind blowing either.

Atmosphere is fine, music was a bit loud. Unfortunately there was 1 server (poor girl) who had every table full at one point. Several people left after sitting for over 15 minutes and not even had their drink order taken yet.

We fortunately got there before the rush started but were there for almost an entire hour.

From the previous reviews, if you want to support a black owned business this is your place. If you care about service, food quality and price... think twice.
