I almost didn’t leave a review instead of leaving a bad one, but after a week and a half, I still can’t stop thinking about what a disappointment their pies were. We got a chocolate chess pie that was so bad that I spit it out, and my boyfriend took 2 bites before pushing it away and saying “I can’t.” We are not picky people. In 7 years I have never seen him say he simply couldn’t make himself eat something. There’s no way that these aren’t frozen pies. The woman who sold it to us said to keep them in the freezer. When I said “what? The freezer?” She said “yes, we’ve got lots of them!” That would explain why it tasted like freezer burned, salted, chocolate mush. Their chocolate cream pie wasn’t as bad, but it wasn’t good. It was 100% a jello chocolate puddling box mix in a pie crust with some frills on top. It wasn’t worth eating either. I am sorry for the poor review, but nothing that I have said is untrue. I could have been much harsher with my choice of words. For a place that advertises pies, this was a bad experience. I don’t want other people to waste their money here.

I'm amazed at how consistently delicious the pie is here. The diner food is filling and good, especially for the price. But the pie is the star of the show. Also, phenomenal customer service. Don't forget to tip.

My partner and I have visited The Cherry Pit many times for their fantastic dessert pies, but this was our first time trying their dinner...and it did not disappoint!

The service was warm and friendly, and our food came out quickly and fresh. My partner ordered the meatloaf dinner, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly hearty, paired with creamy mashed potatoes, and savory, rustic cornbread (so good!). I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, crispy on the outside, with gooey melted cheese and tender meat inside. Absolute perfection!

We also shared the fried zucchini medallions, which were golden and crunchy, topped with shredded Parmesan and served with a tasty red dipping sauce. The cozy, clean diner atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.

We’ll definitely be back to explore more of their dinner menu. If you’re in Greensboro and craving homestyle comfort food with a smile, The Cherry Pit is a must-visit!

Consistently delicious food! The PotRoast entree has been my favorite so far. Potato soup and cornbread is also excellent!

I've had to update my review, a few years ago I gave it five stars but now I'd give zero if I could. Their kitchen is NOT clean, the food had black grease on it from a dirty griddle and the pancakes had a fishy taste like you get from old vegetable oil.
Their pie is disgusting, the crust tastes like vegetable oil, I got their "pie of the month" and it was an inedible mush, I don't think it was even baked.
The cheesecake tastes like unflavored glue, which is wild for how much they charge for it.
Do yourself and your health a favor, DON'T EAT HERE!

My husband and I ate here for lunch. We do enjoy the food here, but I would like more options for gluten-free eating. Salads and soup are the only things I can eat.

First morning, my daughter and I each ordered the crab quiche. Wow! It was delicious. The next morning she had the pancake breakfast and I had a classic eggs, bacon and biscuit breakfast. Both, again, were delicious. The eggs were especially tasty. We will definitely visit again the next time we're back in Greensboro.
