Had to sign a waiver to eat my reaper slider. Thats always a good sign for a person chasing the heat. It was spicy and it grows. Do i think it was sign a waiver hot, no. But it was about as hot as anything i have found in this area. The amatuer hot person will struggle.
Their krinkle fries are great. Especially with Dave's sauce.
I liked the kale slaw that was on the slider. Got it originally on the side, but it was refreshing and cool.
All around great food. And it looks like the pictures you see. The chicken hangs way off the bun.

Service is good. Atmosphere is fine. Chicken is pretty good. Fries are seasoned nicely. But my god, what kind of a chicken restuarant does not have honey mustard??? Won't be back until they do. Also, take the time to make real sweet tea not that pre-made crap they have at wing stop. If you dont like honey mustard or good sweet tea give it a try!

The food at Dave’s Hot Chicken in Greenville, NC is genuinely excellent—the chicken is hot, perfectly spiced, and worth the hype. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. On two separate visits, the service has been consistently terrible. The employees taking orders act like they genuinely do not want to be there: minimal eye contact, short and borderline rude responses, and an overall vibe that makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing them by placing an order. It’s not just one bad apple either—the disinterest seems widespread among the front-of-house staff. If the job is making them that miserable, maybe it’s time to step aside and let people who actually want to work (and can do so with basic courtesy) take those shifts. The experience leaves you wondering what’s going on behind the scenes—poor management, low morale, or something else? Whatever it is, it’s dragging down what could be a great spot. Great chicken deserves better service.
