Pleasantly surprised with this little diner. Greated as soon as I walked in and my waiter was great! The grits were creamy, eggs over easy, bacon nice and thick.

The quality of the food was really bad. The only way I could describe it was public school lunch. Nothing had flavor. The pork chop was over cooked and had no flavor. The potato salad was store bought, the mashed potato were loose , the Mac and cheese was mushy and didn’t have any flavor. I don’t know what’s happened here bc the food used to be really good. We didn’t even eat the plates and just went to Burger King. We got the food really fast. It was empty but it’s a rainy Monday afternoon.

They are advertising that they are open until 4:00pm but I was told by one of the employees that they were not open because of a catering job. We stopped there yesterday about 2:45pm & they were closed, we went again today about 1:00pm & they were closed for catering. They should not advertise being open & them be closed. It is not fair customers to get dressed & drive to the restaurant & find it closed. Especially with gas prices as high as it is now. They should not advertise being open until 4pm & close just for their catering side of the business, they should hire enough workers to do both jobs or stop advertising false times.

While we were in town, A friend recommended the GK Cafe. ? We enjoyed the Monday meal options - smothered pork chops, green beans, mashed potatoes with cornbread AND baked spaghetti with green beans and the garden salad. Would definitely come back again.
Amazing food. This visit was to go but I've dined in on several occasions. Best home cooking around! I'm not a red velvet lover BUT I have to get the red velvet cake every time I visit. It really is THAT good!
