We recently stumbled upon the Marathon while visiting the art gallery next door. To our embarrassment, we had driven past it for over a year, assuming it was closed due to its dimly lit interior and lack of visible parking. As lovers of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, we excitedly ventured in to give it a try.
To our delight, we discovered a hidden gem that we had been missing out on for far too long! The restaurant offers an extensive menu, ranging from traditional Greek dishes like chicken kabobs and gyros to more familiar options like burgers, salads, and pizza. The homemade Greek salad dressing, perfectly cooked chicken, and delectable gyros were accompanied by mouthwatering pita bread, heated and coated with a special something that truly sets it apart.
Looks like Marathon has a full bar and a warm, inviting atmosphere with charming wood paneling, street-level windows, and an abundance of plants reminiscent of cozy local restaurants in Alaska and Canada. The clean, comfortable environment is further enhanced by the exceptionally welcoming staff who contribute to the overall positive energy of the place.
Not only is the food exceptional, but the prices are also incredibly reasonable. With fountain drinks under $2 featuring the highly sought-after crushed ice, it's a refreshing change from the overpriced and under-flavored options found at other establishments. The French fries, served hot and crispy with just the right amount of salt, are the best in town. Pair them with a sweet and affordable Baklava for a truly satisfying snack.
Our entire family has fallen in love with Marathon, making it our new go-to spot for delicious food and great company. With prices skyrocketing everywhere else, Marathon's prices remain reasonable, while their food is always served promptly and with great care. FIFTY STARS!

Don't let the shoddy exterior turn you off from this place; the food is excellent and very fairly priced. I'm not sure I've ever had chicken as tender and well seasoned as theirs anywhere else.
Parking: Lots of parking in unmarked spots in the back.
The Gyro is authentic! Eggplant wrap is very good also. Our friends had the souvlaki that they always order and they recommended this place to us It’ll be a bimonthly destination

I have wanted to try this place for some time but was extremely disappointed . The tea was old , the cheese on my salad was so rancid I couldn't even eat. The moussaka was very tasty but 30 minutes later, my stomach exploded! This was very expensive! $30 for 2 people and I will NOT come back nor recommend

Been here a year and all I wanna do is kick myself in the butt for not eating here yet. It's clean inside and smells like excellence with all that Mediterranean food being prepared. The staff was great and very friendly and went out of there way to make sure you are happy and got me the best price for what you eat. Highly recommend!

very good food and wonderful staff, i got the steak and cheese and it was amazing will come again. also the night shift manager is very friendly and helpful after our meal he came over and talked to us for about 10 minutes just about life and his passion for food it was a very nice experience. ☺️

I’ve been going to Marathon for years and everything I’ve ordered has been excellent. The Ramano is my absolute favorite, but the gyros, steak & cheese, potato salad, fries, and tzatziki are also great. This isn’t traditional Greek but the food is delicious. Will be back.
