"I absolutely love the food – it's amazing! However, I had to stop coming because the atmosphere became a bit overwhelming for me. All I’m suggesting is that the place could use a deep cleaning. Every time I come in to purchase dinner, the floor looks like it hasn’t been swept, and the kitchen area doesn’t seem well-maintained either. The appliances could really use a wipe down, and the overall cleanliness of the floor could be improved. I truly believe that a little "facelift" for the space would make a huge difference. No offense intended to the owner at all, just a suggestion for improvement."

Party of seven, five from out of town. Previously came before a few years back with my brother in law, who unfortunately is the reason why we're back in the area. He is currently in the hospital. Food was good and customers service was great the last the time, my brother in law suggested we go back without him.
My sister-in-law order with her food aside of shrimp. She was told that the shrimp needed to be cooked. She stated okay. Paid for all her food. We are all talking, enjoying ourselves 35 minutes past and still no shrimp. My sister-in-law goes up to inquire about the shrimp. They hadn't even started cooking her shrimp, and a customer who came just came in drop shrimp for them. My sister-in-law said since they had not started cooking her shrimp can she have a refund up for money. They told my sister-in-law no refunds. Horrible customer service based on what happened. If you forget to cook somebody's food and that person doesn't want to wait around to get that food cooked, you should give them a refund. They just lost seven customers. Two actually living in the area and this was their first experience.

I really wanted to support this business even after being told chicken was left behind back in heat during the summer., Floors filthy and the female owner attitude is the worst I have ever experienced..She never cleaned decorum or customer service. I refuse to spend another dime.,, I will make the drive GK s or seahorse wrecthe place to go ! Thank me later!!

Did a take out. Stood in line for ten to fifteen minutes. Service was good. Food was ready. The building needs a lot of upgrades, if I were to ever dine-in. Overall I was looking for some good food and I found it there.

I placed my order and waited patiently, but after 20 minutes, my food still wasn’t ready. When I asked the cashier about it, she seemed annoyed and told the kitchen staff to check. They didn’t respond, and all she could tell me was, “It’s coming, I guess.”

After waiting another 5 minutes, I told her I had to leave and asked for a refund since I hadn’t received my food. She pointed to a “No Refunds” sign and refused, even though the delay was on their end. I had to wait another 15 minutes to finally get my food, which caused me to miss my ride and get overcharged by Lyft.

This kind of service is unacceptable. A “No Refunds” policy shouldn’t mean keeping customers waiting for excessive amounts of time without clear communication or accountability.

I love the soul food here! The lines are usually long but it worth the wait and it moves steadily. The only downside is the restaurant needs a serious upgrade/ renovation. The location is perfect.

We drove by on Wednesday around 11:30am and the number of cars in the parking lot was a big surprise. Went inside and joined the line. The menu boards were a little confusing for first-time visitors and the atmosphere is no frills but as the bare necessities. After enjoying the fantastic food, the never ending line of customers and busy parking lot make perfect sense. It was so worth it! My bbq chicken was awesome. My husband devoured his fried catfish and said that the Lima beans were the best he’d ever had. It was so good that we are planning a return trip for tomorrow (Saturday). Don’t miss out! You won’t be sorry… or leave hungry.
