I have never had a restaurant able to create such a disgusting hamburger not only could you tell that it was a frozen box patty it was so dried up and miserable. They didn’t put any condiments on it. They were out of egg for the fried egg. It was like eating a hockey puck probably because it sat under a heat lamp for 20 minutes being as we watched them bring it out and then turn around and bring it back to the kitchen because they forgot to cook my company’s order. Not once were we checked on and were served 20 mins after the people that came in after us. Sadly the bill was still almost $100 for garbage. We should have listened and not went there.

Can't give a star because we did not stay. Reviewed menu online and arrived to discover new management had change menu but not online! Numerous online menu items were missing. Most were Italian dishes.
Very disappointed.

This is my 3rd time trying The Rickhouse. First time was close to 10 years ago and second time was about 1 year ago. I had received a gift card so I figured we would have a nice Sunday dinner. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The food was some of the worst “fine dining” food I have ever eaten!! The bang bang shrimp appetizer was literally fried shrimp ( with no batter or breading) that was thrown in a bowl and gobs of sweet chili sauce ( which was cool temperature wise) was poured all over it. The shrimp itself was slightly warm still but the sauce was cool to room temperature. My husband and I immediately looked at each other in disbelief at how underwhelmed we were. Okay, so appetizer was definitely sub-par but I held out hope for our meals. I ordered the crab cake dinner which said it came with vegetables and a loaded baked potato. The baked potato was overcooked and doused in QUESO!! When I think of a loaded baked potato, I don’t think of queso as one of the toppings. It was the nastiest baked potato I have ever eaten. I could not continue to eat it and I tried to scrape the cheese off to get to the potato underneath. Vegetables were mostly string beans which were oily and just okay. The crab cake was nothing special whatsoever and had very little flavor. My husband got the red snapper with rice pilaf and asparagus. The rice pilaf was cold and hard from the minute his plate was set on the table. It also had a weird flavor to it that I just could not recognize. His fish was okay. Nothing that stood out about it. Just basic grilled fish. His asparagus was tough and hard to chew. For as much as they charge for their food, you would think it would at least make some kind of positive impression. I NEVER write restaurant reviews because I know everything can’t be to my liking. But NOTHING we had tonight was good!! Then, when we got the bill, I noticed that it said that if you pay with a credit card, they will charge you a 3% fee to help cover the costs of what they get charged for a customer to use a credit card. If you are a restaurant that charges $24-$48 an entree, for mediocre food at best, I wouldn’t think that a customer using a credit card would put much of a strain on your bottom line. I honestly have no idea how this place stays open. I have given it 3 tries and the last one was the worst. Needless to say, 3 strikes and your out.

I recently celebrated my birthday with dinner at The Rickhouse, and it was such a memorable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and upscale without feeling stuffy — the perfect place to enjoy a special night out with my favorite people. I was joined by my son, father and significant other, and we were all impressed by the level of service and the quality of the food.

I ordered the lemon sea bass, and it was absolutely delicious — tender, flaky, and bursting with bright citrus flavor that was beautifully balanced. The presentation was elegant, and every bite was cooked to perfection. For dessert, I had the crème brûlée cheesecake, which was rich and velvety with just the right amount of sweetness. It had the best of both worlds: the creamy texture of cheesecake with that signature caramelized top of a crème brûlée.

To top it all off, I treated myself to a lavender lemon drop martini, and it was hands-down one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while — light, floral, citrusy, and incredibly refreshing.

The staff made us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the evening. It’s always nice to be in a place where the team truly enjoys what they do and goes out of their way to make your experience special.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply want an excellent meal in a lovely setting, I highly recommend The Rickhouse. I’m so glad I chose to spend my birthday here, and I’ll definitely be back!

The new management at the Rickhouse has got it right!! We ordered the crab dip appetizer, a 6 oz filet with Mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables, and the captains delight which came with fries and hush puppies. Overall the food was SUPER tasty. The crab dip was a little too oily, but really great flavor. The filet was absolutely incredible; Mac and cheese should have been baked (were in the south after all) but not bad. The seafood dish we got was all fried - be warned - but the scallops made it all worth it 😜 I'll say the most disappointing thing about the Rickhouse was that they had ads in their music... If we're expecting to pay $100 for a night out I don't wanna be listening to janky Spotify ads. Just my two cents! We will be back though and hopefully they fix their music streaming issue.

As with most people that live in Pitt County, we love it when a new restaurant comes however, the history of the Rickhouse and my personal experience has been a sorted tale. I tried it twice over the last several years both times were not good experiences. But I saw an ad on social media and thought well they made some changes. Maybe it’ll be great and sure enough I came in tonight and had an amazing dinner And my friends. We all ordered something different so we could try each other’s and everyone’s meal was equally amazing. I’m not sure what they’ve done different but it is Working, I am so excited to have another dining option

The name The Rickhouse does not meet the quality of the food or service expected. I was expecting a delicious and enjoyable meal from this restaurant but instead was highly disappointed. I ordered a crab dip but was told the crab dip has spinach. This made no sense to me. I know the difference between crab dip and spinach dip. I also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo which you really cannot go wrong with but this pasta dish was not good. I was expecting bread with my pasta but did not receive any. This was a terrible meal to say the least; therefore, I will not be returning.

The waitress was slow and when you asked for something it took a long time to get it or she forgot it.
