If you are only taking drive thru orders, you should put a closed sign on the window instead of ignoring me for 15..29 minutes. I won't be cookout anymore since I don't like to be ignored. You didn't even look my way. Just kept taking drive thru orders after drive thru until I just left.
My family and I went to the elkin nc location tonight, i ordered a bacon cheeseburger tray and i got almost all the way through eating my burger and realized i was chewing something hard that wasn’t bacon. IT WAS A BREAD TIE. a bread tie in my mouth mixed in my burger. that is absolutely disgusting and HUGE safety issue. I also normally give the last couple of bites to my dog THANK GOD i didn’t tonight.

Cook Out is a restaurant known for affordable and delicious fast food, with a meal barely costing ten dollars. The food is really good, with specific praise for the big double cheeseburger and the chocolate peanut butter milkshake, which is described as way better than Sonic's. Many customers report good, polite, and efficient customer service, with some employees highlighted for their super friendly attitudes and thoroughness, making the experience a driving factor for their return. The location is noted as clean, and food is often ready fast, even on a busy Friday night.
However, experiences can vary. Some find the food is just thrown together without care, leading to inconsistencies. Items like the quesadilla may need more chicken, and burgers can seem smushed together. The fries are thick, like mini potato wedges, which may not appeal to those preferring thin and crispy fries. Milkshakes are often loved, but there are reports of them arriving too soft, over half melted, or even as pure milky liquid. Service demeanor is sometimes described as wham-bam, though exceptionally courteous interactions are also noted. Despite some room for improvement in quality and consistency, many customers love the food and return often, with some even driving from other towns because this particular Cook Out is considered the one to go to.
