I have been in the US from last three years and I was looking for a best Indian restaurant to have my food because I was missing my Indian food. One of my friend recommended me the Indian restaurant of the Havelock that was open a year ago and I went there for my lunch buffet, and the price was very less than $15 and other places where I went the price of the buffet was 20 or $25 here if you ask me for my review for the restaurant the best restaurant the atmosphere is good. The staff is good and very friendly even I have a good relation with the owner and the chef. They are very friendly with me and whatever I have asked them about the food. They have shared the details with me and I’m very happy and I recommend other people to go to the Indian Mahal restaurant and you have their food and you’ll feel like a home that you’re having a food at home and you will get a home experience. and if you go to any other restaurant for $15 you will not get that much food that I have eaten at the Indian restaurant even the entrances are the other restaurant is more than $15.

“I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time and always tried to be friendly and supportive. Unfortunately, both the owner’s behavior (the husband and the wife) has become consistently rude, unprofessional and dismissive. On multiple visits she has snapped at customers, including myself and staff, interrupted conversations without a simple ‘excuse me,’ and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The final straw was when I called to ask about the buffet dishes, because they all look similar on their FB posts since they no longer (intentionally so) film the labels of the dishes anymore, despite repeated requests. I was informed by the staff that she told them, ‘Don’t tell him anything, he can drive 30 miles here and find out.’ I hung up the phone and decided they no longer deserve my business. The food is mediocre with diluted flavorless curries, but the disrespect from the owner is not worth it. I’ve since found several better Indian restaurants with better food, respectful service and prices.
The wife is very disrespectful and contemptuous. The cosplay of culinary greatness without the craft, paired with rudeness that isn’t earned, is very fatiguing. A dal tadka cook masquerading as a certified master chef, gets old real quick.
I spent thousands of dollars with this business, including large catering orders. Unfortunately, the owners’ behavior has become increasingly unprofessional and uncomfortable. The husband would regularly sit with me, uninvited, during my meals and ask intrusive personal questions about my finances, family, and even inappropriate topics like his medical issues and local street drugs. I tried to be polite for months, but the lack of boundaries became overwhelming.
The husband’s remarks that he not focused on pleasing his 17$ buffet customers, but concentrates on extracting 80 to 100 $ per customer by enticing them with takeouts and ordering from the menu, are also very off putting.
Over time I also noticed a decline in food quality and consistency. The lunch buffet often featured 8–10 curry dishes that looked nearly identical, and the labels identifying each dish are now no longer put on their FB website daily, as they used to be months ago. Without labels, it became difficult to know what was being served, and I began seeing the same dishes reappear day after day. On several occasions, items labeled as ‘goat curry’ contained lamb instead, which I pointed out multiple times and was told it was an oversight.
There were also quality concerns — for example, the butter chicken on the buffetI had glue‑like pieces and a thick, hardened sauce that tasted like it had been reheated from a previous day. After eating it, I experienced stomach cramps and diarrhea for several days. These issues, combined with the unprofessional behavior from the owners, ultimately led me to stop dining here.”

Went for dinner tonight with friends so I was able to taste four different meals, they were all phenomenal. I ordered the Methi Garlic Chicken, it’s my new favorite dish! Hubby had the Chicken Makhani and he’s still raving about how much he loves the flavors. Bonus we all had enough left overs for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend!
