The food is good but is incredibly expensive for what you get. One normal size turkey sandwich for obmver $17.00. No side with it. They could at least put chips on the plate. Getting a refill of iced tea was almost impossible.

Great food and beer. My family talked me into the Monte Cristo which you never see on a menu and it did not disappoint! Jam to dip it in. Yummy! Took half home and sliced it up the following morning and toasted the pieces in a pan. Great day 2 breakfast! Hamburger and sirloin sandwich. All great! Oh and the candied bacon was the bomb!

A first visit with my mobility handicapped husband proved a complete uplift of spirits for both of us. Our seats at the bar brought us face to face with an engaging, and cheerful bartender, who quickly relieved our gloomy mood with a genuine smile & real eye contact!!! With patience & charm he moved us briskly into choosing from the huge menu of pub food. We chose the deep fried whole mushrooms, served with a choice of several sauces for dipping, the deep fried cod platter, and, a very old fashioned, seldom-offered pub treat, the monte christo sandwich. Food was superb—all obviously cooked on-the-spot to the customer’s order. The atmosphere in this family friendly place is warm, relaxed, and engaging for everyone . . . . many customers seemed to be regulars, which means local folks do indeed show up repeatedly for the traditional friendly atmosphere of a well-run neighborhood pub.

I hardly write reviews but this really bothered me about our time spent at brooks tavern. When we arrived we were waiting for a table which is no problem, the restaurant was very busy. There was one open seat at the bar so my uncle and aunt and I decided to go to the bar and get a beer while we were waiting. My uncle who has Parkinson’s and is having a very hard time maneuvering and walking these days took the open seat. Once we got our beers the bartender said ā€œare you guys just waiting for a table?ā€ To which we said yes. Then a couple moments later he says ā€œwell I have someone who would like to sit at the bar so if you could move your beers and wait by the front.ā€ We got up no problems. A girl came to sit in the spot my uncle was sitting at and she looked like she was the bartenders friend/girlfriend/coworker. First of all I have never heard a bartender ask someone to leave the bar so someone else can take the seat. We were drinking beer. Secondly, I find it unprofessional to make paying customers move in order for a friend/girlfriend to sit down. The reason I know this is because we stayed 15 minutes past closed finishing our meals because it took a while to be seated. The girl he made my uncle move for (who has Parkinson’s and has trouble standing) was still sitting at the bar talking to the bartender past closed. She was the last person in the bar. If the bartender asked me and my aunt to move because we were standing we would have happily stood outside. But the bartender specifically made my uncle get up out of the chair. I am so disappointed in this and can’t believe they treat paying customers this way.

Excellent Certified Angus Beef burgers. Good selection of beers on tap. Brittany provided top notch service even thought the place was busy. We will return when we're in the area again.

This was our first time dining in downtown Hendersonville, and we were in the mood for some good American food. We chose this spot based on great reviews, but our experience missed the mark.

We sat at the bar, and the bartender eventually brought us waters, though I had asked for lemon and never received it, even after asking twice. He never checked on us or updated us on the food, even after the bar slowed down to just four other people.

We waited about an hour for our meal, and only after I asked did the bartender go check on our food. He came back several minutes later and said the kitchen hadn’t started our food yet due to a preference with cooking fish and fries separately. Meanwhile, another couple who arrived and were seated at the same time as us received their fish and chips, ate, and left before we got anything.

When our food finally came, it was disappointing. The fish sandwich and burger were both dry, and the fries were overcooked and chewy. We barely had time to eat by that point.

I’m hoping this was an off day and not the norm. I’d appreciate it if someone could reach out to help make this right.
