Although OpenTable took reservations for 5.30p, we arrived to find out that the restaurant closed at 6p (which meant the kitchen closed at 5:45p). The service was great (Gigi). Our food was ok. Our French fries were cold, and since the kitchen was closed, there was no point sending them back. Reuben sandwich was good, but my husband's fish basket was not so good. Beautiful setting and drinkable wine. Food wasn't up to par this night.
We all had a fabulous time. Our waitress (Kerstyn) did a phenomenal job with recommendations. We had several apps. (Hard to choose because they all looked so good) We went with the pimento cheese and the Brussels sprouts. Both were so good, but the Brussels sprouts are something else... YUM! We all enjoyed the wine tasting and left with a couple bottles. The staff was awesome and we enjoyed our day. Plenty of parking and the property is beautiful to walk around.
What a find!!! If you got dropped into Burntshirt's restaurant and tasting room blindfolded and then opened your eyes you could easily believe you were in Napa, Sonoma or Paso Robles. With transparency- I wasn't over expecting in terms of the wine. This is Nc, after all. I was very pleasantly surprised. We tried several, and I was extremely impressed with the sparkling, the Cab Franc, and the Cabernet Savignon. 🥂🍷  Now - for the menu and the food. My. Goodness......
