This was our second time to Postero and we drove from Asheville to Hendersonville to celebrate despite the options closer to us. Initially we were happy to see that the restaurant was cleaner than our last visit. We sat on the balcony and noticed that the railings had finally been cleaned/dusted. In my opinion an effort to show you care about the cleanliness of the seating area is indicative of how clean your kitchen is. But upon further inspection, the bathroom was disgusting, there is a large crack in the sink and junk under the sink, the hand soap apparently drips so there are two containers set there to catch the drips. Why not make a permanent fix to the situation? We had the burrata for a starter which was fine, my husband had the pork shoulder which he rated a 8+ out of 10 and I had the trout, a solid 7. The ambience is very nice and they had a full house at 6:30 on a Saturday night. We were a little disappointed that there was verbal acknowledgment of our anniversary but not a token "dessert" or "bubbly". Which is fine, but unusual for an upscale restaurant. Overall, somewhat of a disappointment and the menu / wine selection was limited. We will return, but probably not any time soon.

Had a great meal of Duck and a risotto cake fried other guests all enjoyed others had pork roast and oddly I have forgotten which fish all enjoyed greatly. Jason represented wait staff most professionally and memorably. Nice selection of wine enjoying a Tommassi Amorone which did not pair perfectly with everyones food but I was just being selfish

Another delightful meal at Postero on Main Street, HVL. Our usual Wednesday night commitment canceled this week just as I saw an ad for Wednesday Comfort Food - 2 course meal of either Pot Roast or Shrimp Scampi at Postero - I quickly made reservations for 6:15pm. On a cold rainy evening Postero was packed at 6pm when we arrived, but we were promptly taken to the upstairs table we requested. The ‘Specials' menu only had the pot roast and Meredith, our server explained no Scampi on the special menu. When it was time to order, my wife asked for the pot roast - Sorry, Meredith replied, ‘we are sold out.” We both opted for the Shrimp Scampi on the regular menu. My wife added wild rice soup, and I had the small BLT salad and we ordered the Underground Bakery bread plate. All superb. My wife had a glass of Riesling and I had the Valpolicella. Then came our entree - On My - beautiful presentation- sorry I was so taken I didn't take pics - the abundant, perfectly cooked shrimp were aligned atop the perfectly cooked, and throughly seasoned with Parmesan cheese, spaghetti. There was ample pesto spread across the bowl which really highlighted the shrimp. The meal was so delicious I went over to the chef's on my way out to give them a personal attaboy. The abundant portions made for leftovers to take home for our Sunday dinner. Postero, IMHO, is the crown jewel of Main Street, HVL.

I'm visiting friends in Western NC and I was brought here for dinner. Beautiful restaurant in an old bank building on Main St in Hendersonville. Wonderfully restored and classically decorated. Quiet enough to hear ourselves, but enough background music and buzz among the other patrons to know we were in public. Perfect. The talented bartender served up amazing cocktails and our server was friendly, attentive and fun. Our meals (pork, steak & chicken Marsala) were perfectly presented and delicious! I would come back again with friends, on a date or by myself to dine at the bar. Definitely recommend it!

Shrimp scampi is a favorite dish but, although still good, was a little dryer tonite and missing the pepper usually found on this dish. Everything else was perfect!

We have been going to Posteros since they opened in 2014 and honestly we have not found anywhere better in the Asheville-Greenville area to go out for dinner or lunch. The atmosphere is friendly and the food and service exceptional for any foodie lover.

Absolutely incredible. The food was out of this world good. Atmosphere was great and service was good. Will be back for that Shrimp Scampi!

Postero in downtown Hendersonville North Carolina is a staple in upscale dining for many years. We dined at Postero in 2022 during one of our annual trips to Western North Carolina. We were highly impressed by the quality of ingredients, the presentation, the service and the overall atmosphere. \tFast forward to 2025, we decided to have dinner at Postero and expected to duplicate our previous experience. The initial greeting and overall service has become too sterile at Postero. We received more of a rigid textbook approach rather than a genuine warm welcome. This was highly disappointing. \tThe food, although good, was not innovative. There is nothing wrong with this mentality. The owner/chef chose to stick with the tried and true. Any hints of innovation were approached with extreme caution. This method has proven successful for them. As people say, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it”. With that said, the Duck Liver Mousse was delicious! This was one of my favorite old-school appetizers. The house pickles were well-balanced. The bright acidy from the brine helped with the rich fattiness of the mousse. The Heritage Farms Pork Chop was perfectly cooked. I disagreed with the choice of French Onion Gravy as the sauce. Pan dripping finished with butter would have been a better approach. Then there was the Shrimp “Scampi” Cacio e Pepe. The Cacio e Pepe was too heavy. It distracted from the enjoyment of Kale & Walnut Pesto. In my opinion, the Pangrattato was not necessary either. \tPostero certainly is one of the better establishments to dine in downtown Hendersonville North Carolina. It is unfortunate that the rigid service we received prevented Postero from reaching a higher rating.

It was absolutely delicious. I had the broccoli cheddar soup, brussel sprouts and shrimp scampi. Others in our party had the pork chop as well as the short ribs. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Don't think twice- make a reservation and go!!!

Excellent service, the food was delicious as were the cocktails. This is a great restaurant on par with the best restaurants in much larger cities.

Upon arrival for our reservation (15 min early) the hostess pointed at the bar and said “you're early go stand over there” . No greeting no smile just pointed. When we were seated she walked over to the table, slapped the menus down like she was in a diner and walked away. This was the most rude behavior I've witness in a supposedly upscale restaurant. My husband and I dine out frequently and always ate kind and expect to be treated the same way. When we shared our frustration with the server (who did an amazing job) the hostess walked up to the table interrupting our conversation and rudely asked the name our reservation was under and walked away. Training is badly needed for an individual that represents the restaurant. The food was mediocre, the atmosphere very loud and cafeteria style. The server was fantastic.

Elizabeth is a fabulous server - attentive without being intrusive and really fun and kind. The food was terrific! Everyone of the six in our party had a different meal. All were really happy. Wine Lucy is excellent thanks for a great night!

Another wonderful meal at Postero. We always enjoy their twist a traditional dish. We started with oysters which were fresh and had an amazing vinegar/fresh apple sauce to go with them. Really different and loved it! We tried the butternut squash cavatelli which again was fun as the lemon seasoning with the mascarpone was delightful. For main course we had chicken Marsala which was a brined breast with crispy skin serviced with kale, polenta and oyster mushrooms. Again, a fun interpretation of an old favorite and chicken was so juicy. We also had the short rib with mash potatoes and whiskey carrots. Short rib was so tender and the horseradish condiment was outstanding. We took dessert home as we were stuffed! Always a great dinner!

As always, a wonderful meal, Postero never disappoints. They are consistently outstanding in choices and service. I had the steak option which was the short rib and husband had the cornmeal crusted trout. I have to go back soon for the duck confit pot pie before it leaves the menu!
