I went to BAMH for a last-minute wedding gift - mead! Mead is awesome! And this place has a great selection. The owner was very welcoming and informative. Great atmosphere. Tried samples in shot glasses made of horn and bought 4 bottles. I'm looking forward to going back when I'm not crunched for time.

They have indoor and outdoor seating available as well as nonalcoholic beverage options. Go check out this cute spot. If you're not into mead, they have a wide selection of beers and ciders as well.

My husband and I were visiting Hickory from MD and so happy we decided to stop in Battle Axe Mead House. A great atmosphere and cool vibes. The owner ,Jason, was super friendly and knowledgeable of mead and the town (and surrounding areas)! Highly recommended!

Kid-friendliness: Despite being centered around alcohol, the place is pretty kid friendly. We just attended their one year anniversary celebration and face painting was offered and it was outside so the kids that were there had plenty of space to run around and play
