Was ok I got a plane fish sandwich was really good but not for the price

Smells bad when you first walk in, like mold. Booth cushions can feel the springs and person behind you every time they move. Waitress friendly and returned to check on us several times. Hushpuppies very good. Flounder good with no bones but husbands had bones. Cocktail and tarter sauce not good at all. Coleslaw not good either. Too many negatives, won't be back.

Showed up an hour before they were closing because we didn't realize what time they closed. Everyone was super friendly and kind. Our server was amazing and sweet. She got our drinks and gave us a few minutes to order. The food was pretty good and the chicken was hot! It was a messy sandwich but tasty. Thanks for taking us in and feeding us even though you were trying to close. We really appreciated it!!

Got 2 of the large chicken tenders and a senior chicken tender.had 3 pieces of chicken.in all of them.Food was good what little there was.Sure not worth what I paid.I have never had a complaint on Captain Galley until now.Wont be going back.

I am Vegan and they served chicken on my vegan plate. I threw up. My friend who is non vegan even noticed the prices went up and the quality went way down. The hush puppies used to be remarkable, but now you have to put them on a napkin to suck up all the grease! I won't be going their and my friend does want to go there anymore. It's a shame. That's what happens when you cut corners.

Shrinkflation has hit Captains Galley. The food is more expensive and you get less of it. I was so disappointed. Not only that, I felt sick when I was driving home, must have been all the grease. I love good seafood but was disappointed at this establishment.

The food was fantastic . We had our Christmas Dinner catered and the food and desserts were absolutely delicious. Thanks Captain Galley for a great evening.

Vegetarian options: Vegetable's were cooked to perfection . Fried chicken was seasoned and the Salisbury steak was so tender no knife was needed . Great job.

Service - Ordered to go. Walked in and there were 4 people at the counter. Two people saw me and didn’t say anything. A simple be right with you or something would have been cool. It’s no biggie tho in my experience the new younger generation doesn’t always have the customer service skills I was used to growing up so I’ve grown not to expect it. A woman comes from the back and asked if I’ve been helped. I say no & she apologizes. I tip b/c God put it on my heart to do so in that moment.
Meal- food was so so to me. Food could have used seasoning.
Would I go back? -I would to try the wings maybe not the fish though

We drove 45 minutes to have dinner at Captain’s Galley in Hickory and it did not disappoint!! The hush puppies were hot and delicious. I had salt and pepper chicken tenders. They were hot and juicy and went perfectly with their home made honey mustard for dipping. My husband had Cajun scallops and jumbo shrimp. He said they were cooked to perfection. You won’t leave there hungry. The staff were friendly and the restrooms were very clean. I highly recommend Captains Galley in Hickory. It’s definitely worth the drive.
