El Batan in Newton is a breath of fresh air compared to many of the newer restaurants in the area. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly, was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the overall experience felt smooth and well-run. It’s refreshing to find a place that gets both service and food right. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending it to others.

Amazing food! I can’t recommend the Lomo Saltado Tacos with beef tenderloin enough!!! Absolutely delicious. I live in Charleston, SC and can’t wait to come back to El Batan! You have to try it!!!

Absolutely amazing. This seems more like a place you would have to drive to a Charlotte to enjoy Nestled in Newton. The staff was so nice and polite and their cuisine is amazing.

I have been here 3 or 4 times since I discovered this place. The food is always a delight for the curious and epicurean . It's out of the way and off the beaten path, but the taste of EL Batan does not disappoint. I have to report that the service was very lacking this last visit. Maybe they were training new waitresses or low on kitchen staff , but it took forever (20 + min) to get our drinks, our food took much longer. I hope they resolve the wait staff issue because I like the food and hope to return to better service like my first visits.

Absolutely a hidden gem in Hickory. What a menu. The young ladies that serve are a wealth of information and can guide to help you choose what you will enjoy. My Wife had the slow cooked beef with white beans. Delicious... I had the cercvichie, but wasn't my favorite. The venue is extensive and the prices are incredible. My older Son loves this place. I highly recommend for anyone wanting a change to the normal restaurant cuisine. You will be pleasantly surprised.
