We were a large party accommodated in the back room for a lot of privacy and containment of our noise level lol. Our server was doing her best, but she had no help outside of bringing in all of our food dishes. This led to very lengthy times between every exchange or request, but our food prep time was surprisingly quick! The Cajun chicken pasta, shrimp and grits, burger, meatloaf and soups were all fantastic! Great food for sure!
Parking: Pretty steep entries so if you have a lowered car, go the back/side street. Level grade there.

Went here for dinner with a party of 10. We ordered drinks and 2 bottles of wine. We were the only table in the place until about 8pm. We all ordered. Some folks had salad and some had soup and 1 had an appetizer and soup. All 10 ordered a dinner. I ordered the scallop special. ALL the food was served at the same time except for 1 salad which was served early. Not only was there no room in front of folks to put a bowl and a plate or 2....I ask....what do you choose to eat first while the other goes cold? We asked if a few plates could be kept warm in the kitchen and were told there was no room. Remember we were the only ones in the restaurant. They brought another table out and put all the food that didn't fit on our table on that one. Ridiculous. I must say most people were happy with the taste of the food. Remember I ordered the special? I received 6 small to medium scallops on a large plate with a little butter and oil and 1 slice of lemon. The worst presentation for a $25.00 special. I took a picture that I wish i could post here. So boring and unappetizing. Very poor service. Someone needs to train the staff.

First and last time eating @ Fresh Chef. Chicken marsala was too bland and tough to eat. The Ribs were the worst I have ever tried to eat. Old, extremely dry. Couldn't cut it with the knife.. wait staff, untrained and clueless... The hospital cafeteria would have been better..... Too pricey not to be able to consume

We had brunch and ordered the California Eggs Benedict and California omlette. Omlette was meh. The cheese was not melted and the bacon inside the omlette was lukewarm. Potatoes and grits were very good. Service was fantastic which is rare in Hickory.
