The food is good, but it's very overpriced for the small portions they serve. It's a lot of junk food, impossible burgers, nachos and such. Also, they have been posting some very questionable stuff on their social media, like conspiracy theories from far right influencers. I don't feel comfortable going here again.

It was such a pleasant surprise to find a fully vegan restaurant in Hickory as I was passing through! The owners of the restaurant are incredibly nice and hospitable. It’s a couple and I believe the husband is the executive chef; the food is really flavorful and nutritious. I got the Olmec bowl with chorizo and there was some kind of sauce on it that was super unique - I’ve never tasted anything like it before, and it was so complementary to the dish. I look forward to returning and trying more dishes and the smoothies!
The interior was very cute, but my understanding is that they are moving to an even better one that will have parking, attached restrooms, the ability to serve wine, etc. I hope this restaurant continues to see great success, it’s clear that the owners are really passionate about what they do and I love to see that!

Plant Based Boss is a staple to the Hickory community! I go frequently with a vegetarian friend (I’m a non-vegetarian/vegan but enjoy the cuisine) and we almost always get the Olmec Bowl together, sit down, and catch up on months of news for one another. The owners are always pleasant and recommend the best food on their menu. I can’t wait to go every time I do and always leave feeling full. Already looking forward to my next visit 😁

We just moved here from Boone, which has some nice vegan options as well. I got this from DoorDash to try it out while I was at work, and I had to call them back to confirm that everything was indeed vegan/plant based. The food is incredible, I got the Hawaiian Bowl and I was pretty stunned. Also had the kingkong smoothie, and it’s absolutely delectable. I will be coming back here VERY often.

The experience, atmosphere, and service at Plant Based Boss exceeds any expecting I’ve ever had of a business. This is without a doubt some of the best food I’ve ever tasted and you certainly don’t have to be plant based or vegan to enjoy it. This establishment truly is the gold standard of eateries.

Customer service was good. However the smoothie I order was mediocre. The fruit used in the smoothie was not fresh and the ratio of of ingredients was imblance.

Cute place! Great job with the decor and vibes. Plenty of seating. Staff super nice. The food is AMAZING! We had the burrito with carne asada, very good! But the chicken Parm wrap -- 10/10!!! So good, so flavorful. Also had the macaroni salad side, which was simple, decadent comfort food.

let me start off with saying, the food is DELICIOUS! 10/10. i am starting my transition to vegan food and i am so happy to find a restaurant like this. i loved talking to the owners. they’re so nice and friendly. we ordered a variety of foods and they were all 10/10. the smoothies are 10/10. it’s such a nice and chill atmosphere. i came all the way from Troutman to try the food. if you’re thinking to make a visit , please do. you will not be disappointed.
