I first want to start by saying, I absolutely LOVE Texas Roadhouse. Unfortunately due to my last experience I will have to reconsider Texas Roadhouse being my first choice when in Hickory. I arrived at 6 PM because my party had 16 people & I knew there would be a wait (Frank Tucker & his kitchen staff are worth the wait) & I wanted to get ahead of it. Good food = long wait time, no big deal. I stated to the host, I had 15 people and a baby, I would need 2 high chairs. She told me my wait time & I went outside to wait. We waited for 1 hour & 45 minutes, we expected to wait so it was not an issue. We are called to be seated, immediately the waitress had an attitude. We get back to our table and everyone is seated except for 2 people. There was not enough room, the waitress proceeds to have an attitude, rolling her eyes & mumbling under her breath. First my parents asked for chairs to sit at the end of the table, the waitress said no. So then we asked if they could just have a table with 2 seats (although they would be away from the rest of us) The waitress rudely states that they are getting ready to seat that table so NO. After all options were exhausted and seeing that the waitress was not interested in helping or trying to solve the problem, we decided to just go elsewhere.
The first mistake was going to a Texas Roadhouse outside of Texas. This Texas Roadhouse is conveniently located in Hickory and has tight parking spots, which is surprising considering all the large vehicles the people drive here. The wait was not long, as we used the call-ahead feature. When we were seated, the table and seats were filthy. Then, the bread plates just came out of the washer and were wet, with food on the plates under the top one. The same was true for the glasses of water and tea. The glasses had a grit-feel, like food had stuck to the outside of them. Staff was apologetic saying it happens all the time but to know it and still provide dirty items is unexceptable. Food was good but wouldn’t come back here again.
Looking for a steak. Entered door and there were 7 associates standing at the desk. Waited for 4 minutes to be recognized and then one of them inquired of the party that entered after us. I quickly held two fingers up asking for a table. Good aspect is this quieter than other Roadhouses. Table service was better than average. The NY strip was cooked correctly to medium well, although it was thin for a 12 oz steak. The rib appetizer was overcooked, grilled WAY too much, almost burnt. Do not forget to ask for the veteran discount.
We love coming here all the way from Denver NC, BUT yesterday was horrible…. Our server gave us attitude since the beginning from rolling her eyes and her tone! ATTITUDE all over! And took forever to come to us! The plates we weren’t using she just left them there, the rolls I had to ask her for more and she gave us attitude….For my meat I asked well done but it was medium rare… mind me I was nice and ask politely that it wasn’t well done! Not sure if we will be coming to this location again!!! We had never had this experience before, all of our servers in the past were AMAZING!!! Until this one server I believe her name was Kaileen….
The waitress Zoe was absolutely fantastic. The food was horrible . I will never go back again!!!!
The food was okay but our server was extremely rude and hardly checked in on us. she was extremely nice and polite to the table next to us, but she seemed like she was upset that we were there. i do understand that she may have been a little overwhelmed, seeing as it was a friday, but her entire attitude and demeanor seemed a little targeted since she was polite to the other guests, even though we were kind to her.

WHO OPENS AT NOON on a Saturday?!? How stupid. How many people pulled in and turned around and left between 11 and 12? We saw 4 in the 10 minutes we sat in the parking lot until we left

The waitress wasn't friendly. I had to ask for silverware and napkins. When a customer sets their glass at the end of the table, that means they need a refill. I shouldn't have to hunt someone down for it. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice.

Ordered a medium rare steak and it’s well done. All I wanted was a nice medium rare juicy steak, but instead it’s over cooked to what I ordered and not in my eyes acceptable.
The cooks had it going on in the kitchen, service was bad.
Just after Valentine's Day was a little lithier wait but it was good The food was great

Me and my gf went on Valentine’s Day and Isaiah was our server he was very attentive, respectful, and all around a very very good server one of the best I’ve had. The food is great as always and very affordable for a steak house.

We were lied about that we didn’t pay, not only that but also that we were “disrespectful” to a manager and that is not the case. I have been a patron for more than 10 years and never had this kind of problem. Management has gone down hill particularly in the dining area.
