I'm a very picky eater and had been wanting to try this place for awhile. I finally tried it today and I'm so glad I did! I got the turkey panini sandwich. It was so tasty and the amount of cheese, onion, etc. wasn't too much or too little. It wasn't greasy at all and the portion size was perfect. The potato salad was amazing as well. I loved that the ingredients were chopped finely; it made every bite taste the same. This cafe provides great food and is a much better option than a greasy fast food place with loads of calories. Like Schwarzenegger said, "I'll be back!"

we have eaten at the grater griddle a couple times now. The food is amazing, always cooked fresh, the guys are always super friendly. I HIGHLY recommend their food!!! We love the catchy names also. keep up the 'grate' work yall!!!

My wife & I were pleasantly surprised at the food, service and value. The food is delicious & filling. The service is prompt & attentive. Prices are reasonable. The cafe is kept very clean. We plan our shopping, to include taking a break at the cafe.

This gem is located on the second floor near the north entrance inside the Hickory Furniture Mart. The service is fast and friendly and the food is oh so yummy. I go for the turkey panini which has spinach, red onion, Swiss, banana peppers and red pepper aioli on a fresh baked roll. I now find myself heading here anytime I'm in Hickory. You're missing out if you haven't given it a try.

We were in the area and looked on Yelp to find a nearby restaurant for lunch. We read the reviews and decided to give The Wooden Spool a try. It is inside the Hickory Furniture Market near the North entrance. We were absolutely delighted with the pleasant atmosphere, the personal attention and the delicious food. I love pimento cheese and their sandwich on sourdough bread was terrific. We also enjoyed the tomato bisque. We were able to customize the portion size so that our lunch was exactly what we wanted. The prices are very reasonable and the quality superb! The chef will accommodate preferences so if you don't see exactly what you want on the menu, be sure to ask. The next time I go I plan to order "the skillet" which is grilled chicken over grilled vegetables. My husband loved the Ruben sandwich and the pasta salad. The Wooden Spool is a hidden jewel and a much nicer experience than chain restaurants.

This cafe is awesome! My husband and I had two different sandwiches for lunch (turkey panini, Rueben) and both were excellent. Chuck (chef) and Adrienne provide excellent service. I would stop and eat there even if not shopping for furniture!
