Demhaj Coffee & Poetry Lounge

I LOVE Demaj Poetry Lounge! It’s my go-to place for some good Thursday night soul therapy. The people are always wonderful and welcoming. Page is an excellent host - he always brings such great energy the evening, and Bridget the owner is so sweet and treats everyone like a dear friend.
If you haven’t experienced Demhaj yet, you should!

The place and owner was a vibe within itself. Drinks are a bit pricey. I had a decent night. Only and biggest issue is that, I brought tickets online... Once there, everyone else that came in after us didn't show their phones nor was any money exchanged. I definitely didn't like that.

I had a Fantastic time. I will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere

This place does not deserve 5 stars, it deserves 10!!
My friends and I went last night for the first time and we were all blown away. We were immediately welcomed and embraced by Bridget (co-owner) and the evening's host.
The artists who shared were raw, vulnerable, honest and beautiful. The space was loving, accepting and judgement-free. I felt unity. I felt hopeful. I felt inspired. I felt seen and accepted into the family. This place is truly unique and special and I cannot wait to go back!! Thank you for such a special place and I'm so proud it is here in my hometown!!

I just attended the poetry night at this wonderful venue, and I cannot recommend it enough! The atmosphere was enchanting, with lights dim enough to create a chill vibe, yet bright enough to see everything and everyone clearly. The mood was further enhanced by a live jazz band, and the coffee was absolutely delicious.

What truly stood out were the poems shared tonight—each one unique and deeply authentic. Some made you laugh, while others reminded us of the vastness of our human experiences from various perspectives.

It was my first time reciting one of my own poems on stage, and although I was overwhelmed with nervousness, the crowd was incredibly gracious and supportive. Their acceptance and encouragement gave me the courage to overcome my anxiety. (BIG shout-out and thank you to everyone who was there tonight)

To top it off, the owners were extremely kind and welcoming, adding to the overall warmth of the experience. I will definitely be returning for more nights like this! I highly encourage everyone reading this to go—you won't regret it.

Great energy and talent in the room! It was a dope experience, I’ll be back for sure.

loved this event. the host was wonderful, truly engaging and a very supportive crowd. the owners are directly involved and an excellent resource for inspiration. if you are thinking about going, i recommend trying this at least once in your life

Such a hidden gem! This was my first time at a poetry lounge, and I’m so glad I stopped in. I randomly found it while driving by, looked it up, and decided to go—and I’m so glad I did! The space is beautiful, the host was amazing, and the poetry was powerful. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. I’ll definitely be back!
