Cool spot, place has good character. Service was very good. Food as well. Didn't put too much ice in my drink (thank you). Best hushpuppies I've ever had. BBQ was very good as well.

I will preface by saying I didn't orinally plan on eating here but did so after a Google search. I lived in High Point 16 years ago and remember a GREAT BBQ place called Carter Brothers. Google broke my heart when I saw it was PERMANENTLY closed. Time for a plan B. I was in the mood for ribs and chicken but decided to give this place a shot. The young lady at the counter was very patient and helpful, that is where it ends for this place. All the 5 star reviews must be from locals who have frequented this place since childhood. I was told they only serve pork, and the sauce is "tangy." I found no semblance of any kind of sauce as the pork was super dry. The young lady recommed I add the spicy/tangy bbq sauce at the table. This just made the pork bitter and spicy. The cole slaw was bland and the fries were sub par . The "roll" was a regular hamburger bun. I was hungry and good Ole Catholic guilt prevented me from throwing the food out. This was quite possibly one of the top worse meals I've ever eaten. Ohhh, the hushpuppies with "ketchup" were not half bad. How this place remains open while Carter Brothers had to shut their doors is mind-boggling.

Great nc bbq. Kids loved the burgers and chicken strips. Best hush puppies I’ve had in NC. Vinegar sauce was nearly perfect.

Hushpuppies were great, among the best I have had. From there it goes downhill. The BBQ pork was a bit below mediocre, with a weird flavor I've never tasted and pretty sure didn't belong. Soggy bun, fries fresh from Oreida (or a generic form)... just nothing special. I'm used to BBQ places with great food and poor atmosphere, and eating on wax paper with plastic implements is not that unusual, but here the food matches the implements. It was cheap, I will also give them that, and the service was good. But the food... not so much.

Waitress and staff were super friendly but the food was terrible. Not what I would consider typical bbq or slaw. Very bland and dry.

We had a wonderful meal in a small comfortable restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was good also.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant was very mobility friendly. The parking lotis nice and level, and the door is easy to get in and out of.

Visited today for the first time in 20 years. Business used to take me that way. Having retired, I wanted to go back. Everything about this place is real and authentic. Met Susan the owner, and came away so impressed. The story of the company is so what our country was built on. Everything is made from scratch using original recipes. Please stop in, you won’t be disappointed. And the hot dog is also excellent!
Vinegar based barbecue was not for my taste buds ,but staff was friendly and from the looks of it they have repeat customers.

I've eaten a lot of BBQ in my life, from many different places. I hate to say this was the absolute worst BBQ I've ever eaten. We literally had to throw it out. Vinegar over powered any remote taste of bbq. I know it's vinegar based.. this taste like pure vinegar. No hint of any other flavor. The only thing that was decent was the hush puppies. Omg..I just can't begin to tell you how bad it was. I am so disappointed at the total waste of money we spent. Money we could've definitely used eating somewhere else. We're now making ham sandwiches and chips for dinner
