On Saturday, December 20th, we had a group of 16 people getting together to watch the 5pm football game. I called earlier in the day and said we were coming and was told they would not reserve a spot, they don't take reservations, all their seating is first come, first served.
After talking with our group we decided to get there at 4 to better our chances of sitting together.
The first to arrive were my husband, friend "A", and I. I said we had a group of 16 and asked if we could be sat together in the stage area. The reply was that we couldn't because that area was already reserved. Irritating because *do* they take reservations or don't they? When I asked why a different group was allowed to reserve, the employee replied that it was a corporate party. Ok. Whatever.
The 3 of us sat down. Shortly after 4 more friends came. Then 2 friends after that. Then 1 friend I will call friend "B". Then another. Then a couple. Then 2 more. Then our last friend.
At the end of the game when we all got our checks, we were told by our server (who was very sweet and incredibly attentive to every one of us) that her manager had added an automatic gratuity to our checks. Restaurants do that, I get it, but the first thing that bothered me was that it was 20% and not the typical 18%. Again, not a big deal. If that's their policy then so be it.
I turned to friend A and friend B (they were each paying separately and had come at completely different times) to make sure they also saw the automatic gratuity and the server stopped us and said "actually no, for some reason your two checks were the only ones the manager did not add a gratuity to". Weird, right?
Because they weren't together. They didn't arrive at the same time. They weren't the first or last to arrive/order.
So what could these two gentlemen have had in common that caused them to be treated differently than the rest of the group? Allow me to tell you. They were the only people of color in our group.
What could it mean? What was the intent? I can only guess. But surely, in the year 2025 we couldn't possibly still be doing garbage like this as a business, can we?
I am shocked. Disappointed. Embarrassed. And worried for our society.

This place has creepy people and rude staff. My friend and I are both 23 and went to have a drink at the bar. The bartenders took my friends drink away from her and told her to leave . We both have valid IDs and did nothing wrong. They didn’t even tell her what she did wrong. Needless to say I will not be going back and I don’t recommend this place at all.

Food, wait staff, is consistently good every single time we come. This is our go to place for watching football, or grabbing some wings and a burger. Mango Habanero wings are delicious!

Had 14 people after softball games that we decided last minute to all eat together and they were very accommodating and gave us a few options. Nothing special with the burgers, steak and cheese was good though. Very good pricing and for thos reasons, we will definitely come back. Our server was awesome too with our confusing group. Sorry I didn't remember the name.

We were there at lunch and it wasn't crowded. But beware the night before (Wednesday) was music bingo and it was packed. So we left. Lunch was excellent. The beef tips were marinated Sirlion chunks seared a little bit sweet like Teriyki with two sides. I got broccoli and greens beans. The beans were delicious and still a little firm. Broccoli was perfectly cooked and dipped in a bit of ranch was perfection. My husband got the Carolina burger with chili and slaw. It was large and cheesey and he said the best burger he has had in a long time. His hot chips were yummy as i made him share a few. When we left he was still talking about how great the chili was on the burger. Our server was quick and very sweet. We will definitely be back.
Rada was absolutely spectacular. The best combo, bartender and real estate agent in the triad.

The staff, the food, the service was outstanding this evening. We stopped in for dinner and our wings, BBQ ribs, t-bird sandwich, hot chips, and drinks were all absolutely delicious!! Our waitress checked on us every fifteen minutes to see if we needed anything!! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening Rixter Grill, you and your staff was amazing 👏 and we so appreciate ❤️ and recognize their efforts!!
