So happy to discover this wonderful bakery on one of our trips to High Point furniture market. The chocolate covered donut with buttercream filling is the literally the best donut I’ve ever had in my life! They’ve been there since 1946!

Not even noon and out of donuts. I mean why wouldn't you make plenty for business on a Saturday? Duh..

Went in this afternoon to pick up an order for cookies that I called in. There was no one there when I arrived and when I went inside the lady just looked at me never asked to help me or say hello or anything. I had to tell her I was there to pick up an order and when she checked me out they were in a bag and I asked for a box. I was taking them to a dinner. She gave me a boss and basically just threw the cookies in there in a very messy way. She was very indifferent during the entire process. My family has been going to this bakery for probably 40 years or more and I have never been treated with such indifference.

Great pastries! My family and I have been getting pastries from here for 15+ yrs. I will say that as I came in- I said hello and made eye contact with someone and they promptly turned away. Maybe they were listening to music or was having a day. Regardless- the pastries are delicious. Especially the cinnamon twists!

Lots of 'Sweet' options! The staff is super friendly and there are always great sweets options. It's always hard to pick just one! The parking lot is a bit small and tight, but it is definitely worth it for sweets treats.

I wanted to like this place, but what i got was not up to par with other bakeries in the area. The cake and frosting tasted like it was pre-packaged. The building had a strong smell of mold.

How the mighty have fallen, been in business what over 40 years, my grandma took me there as a kid and throughout my life I've gone here,I'm 41...now its gross, unclean and I don't want my kids to eat here. I still remember the way I used to smell and how good the food was.

I would say treats here are hit or miss. We tried several things. The red velvet is definitely not what I would call authentic. It tasted like a cake mix. We loved the vanilla and chocolate boy cookies (like Keebler elves) and oatmeal crème pies.
Service was good.
My biggest complaint is with all of the gnats flying in all of the bakery cases, right around all the goodies. This seems very unsanitary and just not an appealing look as I’m watching them fly all over the bakery cases. I hope they get that problem fixed.
I will give them another chance but if gnats are still everywhere, I might be done.

A great high point stable with old fashioned and traditional desserts. It’s a gem

Friendly, long term staff.

Pretty famous in HP as it's been here for many decades.
Prices on seasonal cookies really high....over a dollar for ONE sugary cookie.
Interior could stand a facelift and floor a good cleaning.

Recent visit and no atmosphere nor pleasantries! Purchased apple fritter and a couple brownies. Fritter dry and kinda stale. Super sweet brownies tasted more sugar than cocoa or chocolate!! Can’t find a good bakery, Publix or Harris Teeter gboro or WS...,
